I see everyone's point about wanting the characters from the films but this year we're definitely getting a PF of the Emperor and Stormtrooper and who know's what else will be revealed at SDCC. I like having some of the EU characters around to mix things up. Plus, Maul isn't 'exactly' an EU character. This version is but of course the character is not.

Thing is, the Clone Wars series, which is considered cannon and not EU, seems to be moving this interpretation of Maul from the realm of EU to cannon. We know from TPM that Maul was cut in two, and we now know from season 3 of CW that Maul is still alive...somewhere. I hope that if Maul is shown on CW, which I assume is the reason they set things up the way they did (we haven't seen the last a Savage Oppress, have we?), that Dave Filoni has the sense to insist that Maul appear with the cybernetic legs as shown in this PF. For the most part, CW seems to be taking great pains to marry EU to Cannon as much as possible...

True, very true. I would love to test the will of the movie purists if Sideshow put out a PF of Boba Fett....after he escaped from the Sarlac Pit! That would be funny for the guys around here that don't collect EU stuff. One of the most treasured characters in SW lore...and you wouldn't get him because it's not official cannon.....that would be a true conundrum! :monkey1

I really hope he does show up in the clone wars with the mechanical legs. A because i love the design and B it will make it cannon and all the people hating on it will lose a leg to stand on. Personally i love the idea that rage and revenge fueled him to stay alive.

I'm going to finish watching season 3 of the CW tonight.
Literally had chills when I saw Maul's face in the orb thing.. I pray that he's got the mechanical legs.

That's awesome.. it would be too cool if he had the mechanical legs.. hmm.. may have to start watching clone wars

My processing e-mail says Split Shipment.

Does this mean SSC will get two batches at different dates?

Also i ordered pretty much right away for the ex, does that mean i'd be a part of the first batch?

Hmm....I hate the look of the mechanical legs. And I also hope Maul is not alive and is just an illusion from Talzin. But after creating such an uproar, they may feel obligated to throw Maul in there even if he wasn't supposed to be from the beginning.

However, I would love to see how badass Maul is in The Clone Wars series. I mean the jedi and sith are so much stronger in cartoon form than the movie counterparts and the fight scenes are more spectacular. Look at Mace Windu, Kit Fisto, and Plo Koon in the animated series compared to the films. Now if Maul is put in there (hopefully in his natural body somehow), we can finally get a real sense of how good of a duelist he is and a look into his force abilities. In the novel, Sidious was certain Maul would kill the jedi (he said only through Maul's arrogance and pure bad luck did he lose) so if you amplify Maul's abilities like the other characters in animated form---it's got to be insane to watch.

JUst got this back from sideshow destiny We are processing part of them on the 8th of July (this Friday) and then the next split shipment will be processed July 27th. Looks like a split shipment.

I'm still having trouble deciding if I'm keeping him or not. My biggest concern is he would be the only SW piece I have right now and it would stick out. Than again, I have pieces like Conan the Prize and Kratos which are kind of on their own. What to do, any advice folks?

If you like the character/piece enough, I say keep it. It's YOUR collection.

Mine's gonna be charged on the 27th, called them to ask to switch it to flexpay but they said it can't be done for this piece at the moment so I opted for the 2nd batch. July is murder!
