I remember back when i first started collecting 1/6. The official websites called them 12 inch figures but a lot of online retailers called them dolls. I remember I was always disturbed by this. But that was before i came to peace with who i really am...a Doll Collector.

I did. Apparently you didn't read it correctly. The fact you're forgetting to mention is that they did so because they couldn't get boys to play with them if they'd called them what they are, dolls. Like it or not, "action figure" is just a marketing ploy created by Hasbro, to market dolls to boys. And it's worked. In spades.
