I've never had a problem with either. Regardless of how it's worded, at their core, they're still 12" dolls.

my thoughts were always,if any figurine had (realistic) clothing would then be associated as the term "Doll"...

a plastic,articulated,unclothed figurine would just be an action figure.

(even though some call unclothed action figures dolls)

Dolls get roleplayed with, action figures are what Nam says. Hence one in the same.

For me there's a quality and detail variable as well. Anyone can make a doll/action figure, but to deliberately recreate something to spec at a fraction of it's size, and to get it right...that takes practice and skill.

My 1:6 are an art collection to me. Dolls doesn't even enter the equation at 1:6 because that's what 3.75s are for

Scaled human replicas. The concept is gender neutral, so why wouldn't the word be? Doll makes no distinction between a Barbie and a G.I.Joe. They're the same thing. PF's are big dolls. Until you get to fully sculpted statues, it's a doll.

Personally, I am not offended when people call my 1:6 scale action figures anything but that. But to me, that is what they are. They are a very high end interpretation...but the format is 1:6 scale action figure.


Not just figure...any statue can be a figure...tiny staues are often called figurines. They are ACTION figures.

Isn't the term 'action figure' a figurine that has articulation and actually moves?? A statue does not move,there is no 'action' there
