SSC Indy PF vs CM Indy

I'm sorry--- but I don't think there's really a need for a comparison... The INDY PF blows the CM away... and at roughly a quarter of the price. It's a no brainer...

For anyone who'd buy the CM (and spend the dough) over getting the PF--- well, to each their own.

I agree the Indy PF is superior in all aspects.

The SSC PF is far superior to the CMQ figure........I just wish it were poseable, I like pose-ability in my action figures, I guess I'm just a big 5 year old.

I've committed to the CMQ Indy and I've seen the likeness in person, so I know it's great. I prefer the silcone and real hair too, although they haven't managed to get the stubble on Indy right.

But as much as I've defended the CMQ, the PF has a better sculpt and they've figured out how to paint the stubble so it doesn't overpower the face. I'm now on the fence about the Cinemaquette, especially if SSC does release more than one Indy as I suspect may happen.

I'd say jump off the fence... for the price of the CM you could get four (or five) of the eventual Indy PF releases... And we ALL now how much you enjoy your PF's.

Anyways, I will say that the CM Indy displayed at SDCC last year was amazing looking. That was when they had the likeness down pretty good, but then for some reason they changed it. I pray that Sideshow doesn't do the same thing. At any rate, PF Indy trumps CM Indy by a long shot. The pose is better, the likeness is better, the tailoring on the outfit is just as good. Plus I don't have $2,000 to spend on a collectible. I thank Sideshow for 1.) acquiring the Indiana Jones license, and 2.) making a fantastic-looking collectible that I can afford.

This will be the definitive Indy collectible to own, IMO.

The Sideshow PF looks better (and much more like Ford/Indy). And for the price of 1 Cinemaquette you can get a SSC Indy PF for yourself and FOUR other friends/family.

Seriously even the pose of the CM doesn't say Indy like the SSC Indy's pose does.

If you go with the PF of Indy, you have much more room and money left over, PLUS you have the size consistency with all other eventual Jones Universe PF's. If there is anything about the PF's I love, it's the size consistency. Honestly, a CM and a PF would just look odd next to each other.

But by all means, if you've got the money and the space, get both if you really like him, I just think that overall the PF is actually WORTH the price.

Oh, I'm definitely getting the PF - but I'm also getting the CMQ (probably).

The head sculpt hasn't changed on the Cinemaquette Indy, but the degree of facial hair has - that, and the how it's photographed are what people are seeing as changing from proto to production.

I think the Sideshow Indy really wins in this case. My only concern is with Sideshow's quality issues. As of late we have had some great looking protos turn into horrible messes during production.

I agree. That may be the case for 12" or some other line, but I'm not seeing it in the PFs. Every PF that I've bought over the past two years I've been nothing but pleased with. And if a PF is criticized, IMO, it's because it was a subpar piece to begin with. i.e. Elvis, for example.

Didn't the Thing have paint issues? Also, I would include the Stealth Iron Man fiasco in the whole Sideshow messing up production pieces category.

They also changed the pants on Darkness which upset a few. Either way that is all I am saying could mess up this Indy PF because to me he is perfect right now as is.

Not a lot of shiny metal on Indy, so I don't see a similar problem as the SIM. I think the Thing was far more isolated problems.
But I thought you meant the production paint not living up to the proto paint - and we really haven't seen that on PFs in quite a while, if ever.

@ least to me I'm reading this like you're saying most pieces SS ships don't turn out very well. I can only think of a few pieces where this is the case or have had issues really that are worth noting. Comments like this crack me up.

My comment was more about the issues with products most of us have been having lately like the Subject 805 turning green instead of how he looked in the proto or the Stealth IM coming in battle damaged.

Usually paint is fine on a PF minus a few spots or imperfections. That's a good thing.
