Nice!

Yeah, that's one of my favorite moments in the film as well. Very powerful and emotional scene. The image is indeed essentially the Cavill equivalent of my Reeve avatar, although I don't believe Reeve is flying in mine, just merely looking up. :lol

I remember first seeing it in the theater and kind of being in awe, thinking "Dang, that's Superman." Really cool effects and acting by Cavill, showing the struggle. I actually took that screenshot when he's still on the ground, as he starts to look up. [emoji106]

By the way, this is a really nice figure in my opinion. Looks great on display. It has its shortcomings but overall I really like it.

Yeah, it's essentially meant to show the turning point in the struggle, by showing how the coming together of everyone, with Supes of course the driving force behind it, prevails.

I like my RG Luke as well. I personally don't think it's worth the $270 price tag though. It misses the mark the most in my opinion on the boots, the belt and the unhelmeted sculpt, but I think the flight suit is tailored really well and the helmeted sculpt is also very good. The lack of accessories and the no inclusion of a diorama snow base are pretty disappointing as well, considering the price.

I like it more than what I initially thought I would, but as I've mentioned before, I regret paying the retail price for it. After actually seeing it in hand, the most I'd pay for it is $225, tops. Good figure, just not actually worth the retail price tag.

Took mine off the shelf today to change the pose. First three pictures are of the current pose I've had for a while now, and the last one is the new pose I came up with:

Sweet pic.:clap

Not many people noticed that the Snowspeeder Luke blaster is an all-new sculpt, not a re-use of the Hoth Luke one.

This grapple gun is awesome!

Yeah Talibane nice pictures and grapple gun! It'd be great to have one. It should've been included for $270. Nice job on your figure. [emoji106]

Nice shots and poses Talibane and Indymos ✨

Thanks, guys.:hi5::duff

And yeah - this fig was probably around $50 too much, especially given no grappling gun and grenade.

And eh-hmm... when you charge $270 and state the figure includes (still listed on the sold out product page):

Lightsaber hilt
Lightsaber hilt with blade

... don't squeeze people even more by shipping it with only ONE hilt and a removable blade.:lecture

They might end up doing another run at some point. Or "V2" with some updates. If there's less accessories though, it would be crazy to charge $270. Hopefully they drop the price.

You would think this would be an obvious figure to do a V2 on given the demand.

Annnnd... Sideshow dumps unhelmeted head, increases price by $20.:monkey3:lol

Thanks D.R.37 and Talibane! At least they went through the work of giving it an all new blaster in that case. Looks good to me too. You'd think though that for $270 a grenade and harpoon gun should be included. $220 - $225 like you guys said would've been more reasonable.

And yep this one here is just asking to be given a V2. There's still demand, with the combination of how well it's been received and how little they seemed to have made. Although given the track record of reducing the amount of accessories with V2 Vader and Boba(not sure about the others) it would be nuts to charge the same price or go up with less extras included.

Don't get me wrong. I'll be first in line for this if Sideshow did do another run without the unhelmeted head and reduced the price.

But that would probably cause a riot of the guys who bought the more expensive version....

Fixed that for you.:wink1:

SSC doesn't go backwards in price. While they seem to remove something and add $20 to the price with their V2 re-releases, who would buy this at $290 (and with less in the box)?:horror:lecture

It's amazing that Luke X was such a shocking price at $240 nearly two years ago... then they upped it from there to $270. Honestly, if SSC does another hero/villain SW release in 12 months or so, it's truly scary to think what price it will land at. $299?

I can never figure out why SSC does the things they do. I mean this figure is $270 on the one hand, and on the other hand they created all-new sculpts/set-ups of: gloves, gauntlets, boots/gaiters, blaster, saber, utility belt... instead of using the perfectly decent ones they JUST created (2-3 years ago) for Luke Hoth.

I mean, wouldn't re-using even just the blaster and saber from the Luke Hoth release have knocked $20 off the price? And re-use the gloves and boots from the Hoth saves you another $20 (Hoth gauntlets are terrible - they needed a re-sculpt though)...

So had they re-used just those things - that nobody really noticed were new anyway - and the fig could have been $230 or under.

True this. How much R & D money did they waste on things no one asked for or care about? Was it really more economical to
retool a new lightsaber hilt than to include two versions like they have with literally EVERY other Luke figure? Luke Hoth came with three heads (if you got the exclusive), two light sabers, binoculars, better quality belt, blaster and "scene stealer"base for $70 less!

Yeah, the Hoth figs were end of a SSC era - the last time you could get a fully loaded box of stuff (lots of gear, multiple heads, nice display base) for under $200. Right after that you got bare-bones Luke X and Maul for $240.:(

Perhaps they are required by the licensor to release a certain amount of NEW product to retain the license. Thus, they got pinned into making this figure count as "new". Perhaps the original intent was to make use of reuse.

Bottom line - Sideshow can't keep pace with pricing, quality or sheer number of figures that Hot Toys does anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised if they totally get out of 1/6 in the next couple of years and focus on the statue stuff they seem to be doing a lot more of these days.

They'll no doubt continue as a Hot Toy distributor and earn some money on that and postage.

I never thought I'd ever hear praises about the Hoth Luke figure! Everybody kept bashing it back then!

And I also can't believe this thread is still going as strong... It's sold out. It was way overpriced. Everybody hated it. Sculpt and paint were crap.... Nobody's gonna get it anyway now, except for me and the 9 other people who were foolish enough to spend the money on it, and who loved it ever since we got it.

People get over it.

I always loved Hoth Luke and still do. I have Snowspeeder Luke and love it also. I was just saying you don't get as much "bang" for your buck nowadays.

keep saying everybody when what you really mean is the vocal minority.

I can only speak for myself but I pre ordered this the first day that it went up and I think it's worth every penny. It's my best figure to date and I own pretty much all of the recent hot toys and sideshow OT 1/6 figure releases. I know This has been said a thousand times before but, this figure looks ten times better in hand than any of the pictures I've seen. Yes it could've come with a few More extras but damn it looks so good and really poses up great!

never got the chance to get. oh well maybe some time down the road HT might get to it maybe? but I`m working on a custom of it just need to find a good jacket. I have the luke x-wing jumpsuit and a custom tomy x-wing helmet.

I had the points to buy it and planned to.... but it sold out.

I think its a fine figure.

Maybe Sideshow will release v2 in the coming months. If not, that's a good indication that HT is doing one.

Yeah, I realized that's the reaosn I put so much effort into customizing mine - I LOVE the outfit and the fig, even though it has a whole bunch of things that bug me.
Due it being my (probably, not sure on Dengar) last SSC fig, I blew out nearly $150 in RP's, mostly from Spook, so got it for $120 or so.

The SSC Yavin jacket is "just okay" - check out what master customizer Chakaman is using for his Merrick jacket - looks awesome.

If you can find the Hasbro Walrusman jacket still in good condition (the pleather has rotted on some) it can be re-tailored/tightened to look okay. Unfortunately the pleather unravelled on mine so I had to reapply the paint which was a nightmare.

It sold out because it was way overpriced and everybody hated the crap sculpt and paint and now nobody's going to get it.:clap:rotfl

Luke Hoth is a great fig - even though a Inuit youth stole Hamill's costume during the Norway shoot and SSC used him as the basis for their figure. Kidding!!!:lol

Still love it, and even gave some TLC to the BD head (still have to add the heavy ice/snow weathering)...

This one is dead certain to get a v2 whether HT does it or not. They left too much money on the table and they must know that. Luke X was a decent enough fig and great look for Luke, but the Snowspeeder outfit seems to be another step up in terms of it being a must-have. Luke just does so much more in that outfit vs the X-Wing suit.
