SSC Luke Skywalker Snowspeeder Pilot Sixth Scale Figure

I've called this version of Luke a grail-piece for a while, but I'm also nowhere near convinced. I have no problem waiting to see what the production piece looks like. Price creep hasn't bothered me in the past but there does come a time where I say wait-what?

Totally agree. As I've read in other threads that SS will be doing all the ESB scale figures... If this is the true then I really hope this is on point. This look for Luke is iconic (but truth be told every look Luke has in EMPIRE IS ICONIC!) I've been on the fence for hoth Luke since its release day and probably will pull the trigger as stock dwindles down @ BBTS. Bespin Luke from HT/SS is my most cherished figure date.

I just realized I've never even touched my HT training helmet - still in the box.

Someone with the right skills could probably convert it to a snow speeder helmet, which would be fitting, as the original blast shield helmet from ANH was converted to a snow speeder helmet in ESB.

I'm annoyed that the helmet's not removable, I was going to put a BD DX07 head in it. But then again, I'm sure I can remove it somehow, even if I have to cut the thing out with a knife. The only SSC human sculpt that is remotely acceptable to me is Han Hoth (but the hatted version).

I had a look at the HT helmet and it's a somewhat soft sculpt (and seems pretty inferior to the SSC in terms of detail,) be a lot of work to convert it to a pilot helmet and I don't just mean the decals/painting.

God, I really hope that's not true. Even if Sideshow does their absolute best with a Bespin Han or Hoth Leia, it still won't be even close to what HT would have done.

Yeah, their announcement specifically said 1-7. Maybe they're planning on timing the second wave with Rogue One (did anyone ever announce they had the license for that?) or Episode 8. HT released so many in such a short span but maybe that's how they want it, in waves.

Something that's very strange is that I remember last year when Luke Stormtrooper was about to be announced before SDCC, there was a page on SS that was for Han and Luke in Stormtrooper disguise. But then of course we just got Luke. Almost like they pulled the plug on Han due to the goofy smile. We ended up seeing the head on a regular Han figure but after seeing the Luke box art, it's clear that had been the head planned for he Han trooper. Anyway, hope they finally reveal that figure this year.

It was weird that the HT smirk Han Stormie head looked quite similar to the SSC smirk Han Stormie head.

The smirking head looks okay but a little cartoony. I'd rather that the head we have got another chance with a better paint job.

I can't imagine we'll get a new head for ST Han as they don't need to make one for it to sell - people will buy this just to have a tall stormtrooper at retail. But a brand new head that we haven't seen before wouldn't just be great, it would make this a really exciting release rather than a box-ticker.

I guess that might mean Howard having to forgo having solid gold taps in his guest bathroom or something, so it probably won't happen.

Oh cool, I didn't remember reading that before. I figured people here were just assuming and/or hoping that was the case.

If they change the han sculpt and improve to leia quality imagine how popular that figure will be. Everyone will be swapping it on to the smuggler. Hell some would probably mod it to indy figures.

It would be amazing, but I find it hard to believe they'll sculpt another ANH Han. I think they'll save their 'leia quality' Han for the Bespin Han. I live in hope though.

For the most part except PJ recovery Luke and Bacta Tank Luke.

Hard to make a judgement on the smiling Han head because we never got even a medium distance look at it - only grainy blow-ups of small pics.

HT did do a pretty significant resculpt of the reg Han head not long before release. My guess is that's what's happened with the Han stormie head. There's no other explanation as to why they'd "dump" it in the background of a diorama.

Yes, it was me that pointed up the complete absurdity of HT only doing OT figures from ANH and ROTJ... but not ESB... simply because they got the rights to ANH and ROTJ but mysteriously, not the rights to the film between those - ESB.

But no, I didn't "lead some to think" anything - my joking was in response to unfounded, absurd rumors about HT not having the license for ESB.

And honestly, if you're misled by someone claiming HT has the license for the Star Wars Holiday Special, then you are in fact already lost.
