SSC Luke Skywalker Snowspeeder Pilot Sixth Scale Figure

don't know. I am having mixed feelings now about this figure.

Let's see when it arrives home.

The jacket looks very puffy to me. Which also makes the head look small on some pics. The jacket on the prototype was good ??

The head just barely resembles Luke, and the hair looks awful. It's just so plain. It looks like it's missing some paint. I don't see myself getting this because of the price, but if I did this would have the helmet on at all times.

Looks a bit odd in profile, hopefully the sculpt/helmet can be futzed.

you know maybe the head should be shaved down more to not only let the helmet sit right , but also the hair. the bangs should be closer to the eyes speaking of his bangs. they look like sloppy sculpey applied last minute. not a very natural pattern.

Looks about on par with most sideshow's stuff lately. Figured it would be "good enough" and not fantastic.

I'm wondering how tall the figure is? He looks a bit tall for Luke but that could just be the Bulky suit and smaller head.

Maybe sideshow was looking at this still when fitting the helmet on his head:

Yeah, their sculpts don't seem to get any better as far as human characters. Their Darth Maul is an exception but it's also a character covered by makeup so a lot of the likeness is easier to hide with paint.

Sadly, the same can be said for most of Hot Toys' Star Wars sculpts.

This is why it was absent at celebration, easy way to avoid the backlash.

I want a snowspeeder luke pretty bad, but not enough to drop $295 on a figure of middling at best quality. For now I'll stick with my middling x-wing pilot that I got on ebay for about $185.

Perhaps but at least the paint is awesome and they don't look like muppets.

That would've been the logical thing to do. I find it funny that the day production photos went up, the HT Bespin Luke head I was watching on eBay was bought.

Me too, but now it's looking like the jacket might be puffy. If there's enough interest it would be great to get a custom jacket going.

I don't know, I'm still pretty excited. I've got hot toys and sideshow and honestly none are 100% on likeness. My concern on this figure is that there isn't much weathering and it feels something is missing at the price point. If his jacket could be removed and jumpsuit rolled down that'd be awesome...
