The waitlist for certain figures feels like Sideshow trying to pick up on people on the fence. They probably realize people want this figure but not for the price they're charging. Make it look like it's sold out and you get some of those people to join the waitlist out of fear of not being able to get one or having to turn to the secondary markets and then however long later suddenly get a conversion. I've seen it happen with other figures where they'd go to waitlist briefly (usually right before release) and then they're suddenly back in stock. The only figures that seem to truly sell out fast are those that are some kind of exclusive or movie promo edition where a lower number is produced. I have a feeling with this figure that's not the case. Also as mentioned Sideshow has done second runs on a lot of their Star Wars figures.

Because it's likely how he'll look in my display also. Well, maybe holding the saber hilt, since you know, it doesn't come with a grappling gun or anything. That would have just made too much sense.

Looks like the Michelin Man...the suit is supposed to be padded but yikes...

I never like Sideshow's gloves and boots. They always look way too plasticy and cheap to me.

Yeah I think in the snow scenes he was a lot more padded and was probably wearing a lot more underneath for warmth.

It probably matches the Hoth look that they're going for. I don't think it's that poofy later in the film on Dagobah though. I wonder if there's a fat suit that can be removed.

Now I am suspecting that, even worse, the head and helmet are just simply disproportionately too small for the body...come on Sideshow!

Likeness looks at least as good as Hot Toy's 2 attempts at Luke.

It's easier then ever. Nowadays when you type something in if it's available it shows but at the top it gives you a link to expand your search. It says "try searching the archive" One extra click and there it is. Couldn't be more simple
It used to be you had to go to the bottom and find the archive from one of the drop downs.

If you type in star wars on the search bar there is an icon that takes you to all the star wars stuff. This figure is still at the bottom with the other waitlist stuff.

Ah, thanks, guys. I didn't notice that new feature. I guess it's more a function of their new search now. They used to still let waitlists show up in their regular search when they were up to their tricks. I do agree that it's most likely a ploy to get some full-price orders in.

Ssc have remade figures that had edition sizes attached to them. They are capable of anything when it comes to cash grabs. Bummer about this iconic look for luke and the snowtrooper commander. Maybe a HT in 5 years but by then the price will be at least as bad.

Unless HT do Dagobah landing Luke.

I'm going to remain hopeful that the waitlist thing is temporary and this figure ends up at "Buy Now" status at some point. Would like to cash in some rewards to bring that insane price down (especially considering it would probably cost more than $20. to ship it out to me if the shipping I just paid for two figures recently is any indication).

I like the look of the recent shots...I think it's going to be pretty comparable to the Red Five Luke shown here (that is still available)...



I'd like to keep my "ESB" sixth-scale collection going...and really want to add this one to it. I know the HT fans in here are willing to wait and see if they tackle this version...but not every HT figure has been a "win" in my book...Sideshow can still produce figures I'd like to add to my line-up.

It's just...."interesting"...the games and hoops we're dealing with for this hobby.....
