I can see that; like reusing old molds! But he has gloves and a sculpted piece that covers the front of the hand; it's like an extension of his gray gauntlet.

Storm Shadow being a "good guy" is as boring as Destro trying to take over cobra with his Iron Grenadiers (or even Magneto joining the X-Men).

Storm Shadow ALWAYS works best as a villain, even when he's pissed at Cobra Commander (ARAH #24).

I don't see them revisiting the throne, variant painted or otherwise. It's a "been there, done that" item. There are too many unproduced things in the pipeline to tie up the factory resources and environments typically are not big sellers for them. They don't want to be left with a surplus hanging around the warehouse like the other polystone walls they can't get rid of.

If they do another kind of throne it will probably be Serpentor's Air Chariot.
