50% counts as close. :cuckoo:

He's closer to the source material than your beloved SSC Bludd which you DIDN'T pass on.

Mask with hood. Check.
Ninja outfit with grey camo. Check.
Compound bow, arrows, wrist claw and sword. Check.
Ropes around shoulder. Check.
Arishikage tat on forearm. Check.

That's 1988 Storm Shadow. I never even knew he had those tiny belt pouches until scrutinizing the SSC figure so obviously it isn't a critical aspect of his look.

Oh noes his shin guards are the wrong color. :monkey1

Yeah, price is kinda tough to swallow. Great figure, though. First sixth scale figure I'm going to buy in more than a year. There's just nothing out there that impresses me much anymore. This figure is a home run, though. Happy to see that ol' claw. Sad the exclusive is so underwhelming.

As an aside, V2 Storm Shadow parts + SDCC Ninja Viper parts = Lazy Kamakura custom? You know, if you're into that sort of thing.

....ooooo

So, the ex is just a sword handle and not a complete sword.
This is one of the worst ex's ever.
They could really use a pic with all the gear laid out. The product page isn't very clear on what you get.

Sideshow Exclusive

Cobra Head Katana Sword

Listed on the page with the discription. Can''t get much clearer than that. He comes with two swords.

Pass. Another custom-build-your-own ala Snake Eyes, Cobra Commando and Destro.

How do the Sideshow figures usually pan out. I have never purchased one. I usually only buy Hot Toys. But I have the G.I. Joe Retaliation version of Snake Eyes, I really like this interpretation of Storm Shadow. Are they good quality?

So Snake Eyes walks into an Army recruitment office....

"Whaddaya wanna be son?"

"All I can be, Sir."

"No, I mean, what specialty?"

"Um.............. Ninja."

"Ninja? Kid............... Naw...... Just..... Naw."

(Long uncomfortable pause)

"Um, Commando, Sir?"

"Commando it is! Welcome back to the Army, son!"

You going to defend Destro too?

The camo pattern is wrong and to me that is the defining trait of the 1988 figure. This is Devils Due Storm Shadow.

Major Bludd? A odd looking rocket gun and robot arm instead of a armor covered arm, but the figure is pretty much 1983 Bludd.

BTW, how many SS Joe figures do you have. Maybe 3? :monkey1

why not just nit pick everything Sideshow has released?? NOTHING has been perfect or 100% to the source in this Joe line...NONE!

I can and have. :dunno None have been 100% but several have been darn close. This isn't one of them.

Mabe you should......

I dig this figure and have preordered it.

The SSC Dweebstro is still a disgrace.....

Shame on you Sideshow.

Ordered the Elite™. :yess:

:lol:lol:lol:lol

So you probably just get a whole different sword then? I dunno what they're getting at.

The Ex for the original was a small set of nunchuckau, so this isn't really much different.

He's about 75% there. Considerably closer than the "Firefly" (Ice Viper) people suddenly thought was okay after Sideshow gave him winter camo on his mask to match his parka. :lol

I'm just confused; if we go elite, do we get a generic katana plus another sword with the cobra? That'd be pretty sweet cause both look pretty damned good.

People been saying that you do get 2 swords. But I'm not sure.

Common sense would say 2 swords given the potential QC issues of putting the sword in the scabbard and the blade getting stuck in there when the hilt pulls off. Of course, this is Sideshow we're talking about, so who knows? :huh
