Agree with you on the light up saber. Not interested at all. But I am glad it appears that they are including a traditional saber as well.

One thing I am disappointed about is Sideshow still doesn't seem to care about futzing the figures so they look good in these shots. No doubt the clothes will look better after some TLC. :D

If Sideshow is going down the light-up route, they should provide a different, cheaper preorder option without the fancy-schmancy light-up features. I will not be purchasing this or any other Jedi figure with light-up lightsabers. Sideshow, please take note of this. Some of us just can't afford it. You're pricing me out of the hobby.

He looks really great.

BUT.

I. do. not. want. light. up. lightsabers. The price on Jedi/Sith figures has going up $50 just for that. There's no way this figure would be over $100 without that.

I'm out, if that's how this is going to be from now on.

This figure would've been above $100 even w/o the light up effect

Not sure if it's an additional saber. Looks more like the same thing just isn't turned on. Either way, at least both for and against the light up effect can be satisfied.

The boots look really great. I'll be adding parts from this to my AOTC Obi-wan for sure.

Very happy with this :yess: the exclusive is mine! That's also a damn low price. I may get two.

:yess: happy days. The light up saber is awesome. And I love the neutral sculpt.

It does appear that the saber is sculpted into the hand and there will be no wrist articulation on that right wrist... Looks like I'll be getting a TT body for this.

I'm really happy with the 2 sculpts, because I plan on making a duel of the fates diorama out of real sheet metal to place inside my besta, that angry sculpt is perfect for that. Then if I do decide to get another figure he will be robed with the neutral sculpt. awesome.

Mine are definitely getting some love when they get here, I'm gonna have the perfect ep.1 obi wan finally!

pixeltwin, where does it look like he's got a regular saber? with the exception of the one image where he has a deactivated saber in his offhand, every other shot has him holding the saber/hand combo piece.

which, by the way seems to lack wrist articulation, making for a few wonky action poses, or holding it in a realistic looking two-handed grip impossible.

so far, not impressed. i need to see an accessories load-out, and parts list to make a solid decision.

but right now, leaning towards no.

I don't know if people have seen this picture because it was buried in the High-Res gallery but there is definitely two types of lightsaber and there maybe some wrist articulation on the light up arm.

ok, i'm in :D

Light-up sillyness, and classic, no-light up.

Keeps everyone happy.

Well I seem to be getting back into this line at just about the right time. This looks great to me. Portrait could be a tad closer but definitely close enough, and the extra portrait makes the EX a must. The $149 price point is definitely a far cry from the $60 they used to be, but back then the headsculpts and costumes were dreadful and barely a notch above Hasbro. Hopefully the bodies have improved as well. Not HT level, but it's also not $229 HT would charge. I will gladly pay for the jump up in quality. Sideshow needs to go back and redo Leia, Han, Qui-Gon, Mace, Anakin, Padme, and the other key humans. Then I think this line will jump to the next level.

Where can one look up these hires pictures? :date

Ex head looks even better in the Hi-Res pics. Hopefully the production piece doesn't come out like how it looked at SDCC

AGREED :exactly:

I can not tell if it is sculpted or not. And I can not tell if there is also a non-glowing, ignited lightsaber.

But I hope it's not and I hope there is.
