And although the light-up saber may appear to be a great feature upon first glance, I must say I am not thrilled with electronics in my figures. Seriously. Take IG-88 for example. He arrives, I open him up, I fiddle around with the base and the light-up head, he looks really cool all lit-up... but then I put him in the display case and turn off the lights. If the lights could stay on 24-7, that would be great... but I'm not going to open my Detolf and click on all the light-up features on my dolls every time I enter the room.

Exactly. Unless you can keep them powered on for hours by AC the electronics are really rubbish and an extraneous expense. The light-up stand with Boba and IG-88 are impressive but you can't leave them turned on in a display case without having to change the batteries. Even the Tron lightcycle is impressive when lit up but that wow factor lasts only a few minutes before you turn it off put it back in the display case. And the LED light they have in the saber isn't bright enough. I have seen much more impressive looking EL lightsaber mods.

Not sure how I feel about the light up saber. Useless gimmick, I know, but I do love the light up things.

I wish I wanted this character but I am so over the PT's human characters.

That said, this looks like a figure from 2007-2008. Sculpt is way off. Clothing seems poofy and ill-fitting. I would like to have Sideshow's first light-up saber... but I just have zero interest in this figure.

Well I for one think he looks really nice! The boots look like there is an articulation joint at the foot now too which is nice! I am really looking forward to putting him with Maul and Qui Gonn (who needs an update badly)

I'm with abake. A few years ago, I would have been right there at the PO, waiting to click 'Purchase' but frankly, these darn things are getting too expensive for me.

good thing you didn't buy the HT Tron Legacy figures then :lol

Everytime I go to my collection room I turn on the lights of my figures that have them

I actually wish they would include AC cords with the light-up figures, so they could be lit most of the time

too cumbersome IMO i would hate to see cords everywhere

I have to admit, it came out better than I thought. The likeness to Ewan is still not there, IMO, but it's forgivable at that price point. I thought for sure they were going to try and get $200.00 for it. $150.00 with 2 headsculpts, the light-up saber and saber/hands accessories seems pretty reasonable.

In regards to the light-up features, guess I'm in the minority but I like having the option. Really makes the Cantina enviro, especially if the table/chair sets are in the mix. So don't stop making light-up stuff, Sideshow! :p
:lecture:

I'm surprised at the price considering the light up feature. I dig it. it's a nice feature that I'll definitely use.

I like having the option too. Plus the light up saber doesn't really look different in terms of hilt and blade to the normal one. If you can get past the hand :D

ditto:goodpost:

Looks really really good. I will most likely order this one and finish off my obi-wan collection.

:hi5:

same way I feel...unless Hot Toys makes an Obi-wan then I'll get that one too :lol

HT doing the human sculpts would be ideal, kl241 (add $75.00 to the price, though), but I also agree with Billy Ray that this is a huge improvement for Sideshow. The saving grace in this case is that I don't really care about Padawan Obi and the price point is such that this is a very reasonable release for most people. If they'd gone with HT prices with the current package, then I could see not being as positive about it.

:exactly:

I personally think this is great and glad HT hasn't made one. I don't want to pay their new prices for this. If HT did make it, I bet there would be a ton of complaints about the price and the figure not being worth the price. then if the likeness wasn't absolutely spot on, there would be even more complaints about the figure's worth. Then tackle on the fact that there would be complaints that the second sculpt is adding to price. only good thing that comes out of HT IMO is usually paint. not saying that all of SS products are homeruns but neither are all of HT sculpts. many are "close enough." different strokes though

This is one figure I have been waiting for since feb. 2006 so my opinion may be a bit biased, but I can't think if anything I don't like about this figure.

It's not perfect, but I like it enough to own. The light up saber stuff should be a exclusive though and a higher cost.

Now hurry up with AOTC Anakin and Dooku.

Looks good to me.
Only thing about that light-up saber is....are they going to re-visit Maul and/or Qui-Gon and give them light-up ones too? Don't know if that's such a hot idea....I don't want to see either of those characters witb that horrible peg-neck the pro body features....

Like the boots...may have to get a pair for AOTC Kenobi....
