For me this argument has nothing to do with Hot toys! Rater sideshow need to step up there sculpts! The only hottoys peace i have in my collection is one HT Luke head.

The sculpts are great for the most part. Rather I think it's perhaps the factory paint apps you are disliking. Though as far as that goes, this Obiwan is among SSC's best factory apps by all appearances.

HT are branching out lately into new scales. Also starting to use diecast etc.

Yes HT are slowly branching out but if you read my post you'll note that I said HT are primarily focused on one scale (1/6) and it's clear that that is where they put the majority of their resources to. And while diecast is new territory for HT, it's still being used for their primary line which is the MMS series. Sideshow pulls out tons of product in all scales and as far as I can tell there doesn't seem to be a primary scale when it comes to them. I'd say there is a primary scale in certain lines (like 1/6 over 1/4 for the Joes or the statues over PFs for LOTR).

Agreed. For the most part sculpts are great but I haven't owned one SS figure that I didn't repaint aside from the clones.

Too bad those nice Luke likenesses went to waste with the factory paint apps. Be great if SSC offered a repaint/head replacement program!

Be nice, wouldn't it? Instead I foresee them pulling out the Hot Toys ploy of offering version 2.0 figures they've already done and from what they have said in interviews it sounds like that is what will happen.

Poor old SSC Ep1 Ewan.. :lol

Props to Zelda for his pics so far - but there haven't been a ton of 'in hands' to appreciate fully just yet.

The figure obviously needs some focused futzing - clothing.. & that neck situation, but it looks like a solid piece for the most part, so I'm looking forward to someone giving this figure some attention in the next whenever & snapping some revised shots.

I've never been a SSC fan - bar the three I own (& one or two others I'd like).. but this Ewan has promise I think, likekness aside. :)

Whatever will get me a Qui Gon Jinn. And an old Ben Kenobi!

In hand pics are looking better, not bar raising, but better. I'm also concerned about the neck.
Looks like in those pics from A-Z that the ankle joint may not be universal. Hoping like heck that's not the case! Why go through all the trouble and half *** it? Say it ain't so SS!

I personally wish they would offer version 2.0 figures. But only if they have better paint apps. Again some of the sculpts were good, but the paint needs updating on some of the older figures.

If its the paint apps, then the better suggestion would be they get a better Chinese factory to make their product. The way people talk about the paint apps, you'd think that Sideshow personel personally paints the figures.

Do you see Ewan Mcgregor as young Obiwan in this pictures?? or only me? :)
After fixed up the collar in 5 seconds, is it still "girrafe neck" issue??
Tell me what you think guys :)
