New or old it's just that you never know till you get one. I learned that long ago but so far besides QC issues everything has looked as good or better in hand.

I'm only concerned with the metal looking parts. The proto was good but the gray looked better without the oversprayed lines it now has but if it's good quality I can still be happy. If I had 100% skill I'd repaint it like the proto.

I'm sure others have to see it around the thigh areas. The areas should be tight lined not oversprayed to emphasize the lines. It makes it looked airbrushed and not realistic where the proto looked better.

Ok here's what I'm mad about. I was hoping it was shadows but in the side pic you can see the back and front of the upper leg. WTF possessed an idiot to airbrush the lines. The back is far superior in how it looks which is like the proto. I still will be happy but whoever did this should get punched in the throat. You don't highlight metal like that as it's totally unrealistic and turns it into an airbrushed look.

Sorry for the small pic but it's big on the site. This is the only issue I have found in the photos posted. Is it a huge issue eh kind of for me because it's the first thing my eyes were drawn to. I was like a deflated balloon but it's because it's my favorite character and it cheapens the look to me.

Look I'll be happy just not as happy. It's a person preference but the back of the leg is right and the front is not.

My hope is that in some pix it looks ok and some look weird so that's the whole in hand thing. I may get it and breakdance.

Im not seeing what your seeing. They look like grooves to me. One thing Ive learned from SS JSC Spidey- When Sideshow can do grooves instead of painted fine line detail work, they choose grooves. Seems like a dumb thing to try to instruct factory painters to get right when it could have just been in the mold to begin with.

I can't do it from my phone because I can't click on the proto photos and only see the movie unless on my computer but it's easy to see.

The groves on the front of the thighs have been traced with an airbrush but in the prototype they were not but may have have a little paint work. The back of the leg and butt appear to have zero paint detail around the grooves.

The photo I posted you can see the airbrush starts dead center on the side. I'll post larger pix later.

As I said at some angles it's faint so maybe it's not as noticeable in person but it def looks a tad different.

Right now on SS website there's a big close up of him and it's not the production piece for sure. It's identical to the proto down to the scratches.

BS little pics but you can see it there.

Even the yellow lions battle marks differ a lot but that's totally expected. A lot of the damages differs and I would highly doubt all pieces will be the same anyway.

So yeah it's a different look on this area and one I don't hate but was better left not done and I'm hoping mine has only a little of it.

On another note don't they show the production pix like 2 weeks prior to shipping? I always forget to pay attention.

heres a blown up pic

looks to me like they are going for an oxidization/weathering effect. If you zoom in it looks pretty natural. Dont think it will be anything to worry about- knock on wood.

Yeah I hope not. It's definitely not the same as the prototype.

I am totally hyped to get it no matter it was just like BLAM instantly reminded me of how you would airbrush the panels on a millennium falcon to do the underneath highlights as you layer the paint. In a few angles it's more subtle. It's weird how the back has literally none applied.

I gotta get my print ready and all my old voltrons are ready lol his boys are waiting. I would flip if they did the lions in a large statue or each in their element.

I did not expect that but it is truly better than I thought, waiting for my in hand pics.

Looks like it should be early August I hope. I swear it was 2-3 weeks tops from the time I saw Jango out of the box till mine shipped.

I was thinking even if you find any problems it's just battle damage lol some of the artists are just better at it though.

Too bad there's no behind the scenes start to finish of him or any for that matter.

I just googled behind the scenes Sideshow Voltron and there's a link for tumbler showing a ton of work being done on it.

Considering I'm the only one that has really said anything I assume that's to me. If it's not then don't read the rest of the post.

I'm sorry you clearly didn't read all my posts as I said I love it I just do not like the airbrushed lines on his thighs and I also said it seems less prominent in certain photos. Not really nitpicking when it's an opinion.

Nitpicking would not occur had the paint scheme remained the same as the prototype and just because the first thing that stood out to me was that doesn't mean its nitpicking it's called an opinion and we all are entitled to post them.

Read all my posts and the point is not nitpicking it's that I hope all the lines aren't airbrushed and will look more weathered.
