Yeah, he was chugging along nicely until the Ex was back in stock. Always wondered how people who pay scalper prices feel when the in stock comes back, I saw Ex heads alone that had active bids over $60.

I wouldn't think of it that way. If the figure is worth enough for someone to pay scalper prices, while finding it less elsewhere might save them cash, I never understood how seeing it cheaper later could diminish the figure's "worth" to them.

It might not diminish the worth to "you", but obviously some people want to get the best deal you can get and paying a scalper for something you don't think you'll be getting, then seeing it back in stock has gotta have some sting. Plus, if everyone thought that way, there wouldn't be scalpers, everyone would be playing with their new 12" toy, I think alot of the sales are to people who actually estimate a figures worth to what it may be worth to others down the road, thats why you see "nib" sales linger for years on figures.

I don't see how there's anything wrong with that. :dunno

The old toy is one of my very favorite childhood toys. Probably in my top 5. But I don't dig the look of the 12" figure with the abs so much for some reason. Maybe because it makes him look so skinny with that huge piece of armor over him.

I don't either, unless I buy something and I absolutely hate it, its getting de-boxed and futzed with, but there are people out there who buy just to hold onto them for value. I can't name names, but like in the Snake Eyes thread, Snakes pretty old and pretty poular for people to be able to find so many "NIB's" floating around.

I agree. I was originally put off from Ski's first shirtless pics but I think it was mostly from the hood down first in the series of pics that turned me off to the idea. While I think it looks ok shirtless I prefer it out of the box. Considering it's the most easily futzed out of the box Joe for me, I appreciate it's original out of the box awesomeness. How many times can I type out of the box in this post? I don't want to work on every figure I get. I had the OG Zartan like most of you. Personally I don't need this one to be like him because this one rules as is...

HT TTM-19 body makes him a little better. I hate the pro's knees.

Given HT is double dipping into licenses and re-releasing updated versions of past figures effectively completely deflating the secondary market value (look at the IM MK I, MK II and MKIII, P1 - he used to be $600+ and P2 was the same but now he's about to topple, the Tumbler which was fetching over $1k), the days of collecting for investment are over.

Yeah the new pro knees leave a lot to be desired. So far in my limited time with them it hasn't been a deal breaker. I actually have a spare TTM-19 body collecting dust but I haven't felt the need to use it just yet. Btw since I'm new here I'm all about the Joe's. I have them all. All Elite's of course.

This makes me somewhat happy. Mostly since I'm in a position to be able to afford my small collection of wanted items without having a one in one out method which I used to have. I want the HT Blade figure. I'm not paying current Blade figure prices. Re-release Blade and I will buy it. Just an small example mind you.

I was informed a short while ago that a collecting buddy of mine bought one of the Exclusive Zartans for me because he knows I collect this line and the Duke sculpt reminds him of me.:lol

I remember the day I got the Zartan and skiff. I was in the backyard, opening it up, waiting for the Zartan figure to turn blue, somehow that was exciting when I was a kid. It was always one of the most distinctive Joe figures, it was totally different from Cobra or Joe figures since this was a mercenary. Along with Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow (I know, very original) it's one of my favorite Joes of all time.
