The one issue I have with the SSC Zuckuss (other than the head being a bit small/narrow as jedibear pointed out, but which is made up for by a killer-detail sculpt) is the colors really seem more based on the later Hasbro 4" figs (with that darker chocolate brown coat, orangish armor and pale head/tubes) than the onscreen Zuckuss.

The 12" Hasbro figure is way inferior to the SSC, but it does have the wider head and a color scheme that seems more like the movie character. Not sure I have the courage to dry brush the SSC coat lighter to bring it closer to the lighter brown.

Figure looks cool for sure. But looking at your pics there is almost nothing very close to screen accurate. Colors of skin tone, off. Clothing color, off. Size and shape of head, off. Shape of eyes, off. Etc etc. But still I kinda want one. In all honesty if I hadn't regretfully passed on 4 Lom I probably would have ordered him already.

Here's a customized version of Hasbro by Yak from 2007...

The problem is the imprinted "chest-guard" into the robe. Kills the ability to make him fatter.

In this ridiculous rare instance, is the Hasbro offering better if you just fatten him up?

I don't think that there is any doubt that it looks closer to what's on screen. But it doesn't look nearly as high quality as the sideshow. Not sure what to make of that :dunno

Definitely need to shorten this guy. Wonder if there is an easy way to mod the foot peg since I don't remember there being any feet showing in the movie. Would take a bit of height off

Yeah, definitely needs to be shorter and fatter.

How we gonna do this, team??

If someone offers a custom coat or does a great job repainting the existing coat, I'm buying this in a heartbeat.:lecture

It's my favorite bounty hunter figure so far (I've had issues with SSC Boba, IG and Bossk both versions) so really want it.

The Hasbro 12" figure is undoubtedly more screen accurate in both color and scale of head, but how's it going to hold up displayed alongside the likes of HT ESB Fett, SSC v.2 Bossk and SSC 4-LOM?

We need pictures of the actual costume to really be sure about the colors. Look at the 4-Lom costume pieces here. They look nothing like on screen. They look blue, though it also looks like some paint has been lost. The rust paint ...and as a side note Boosk looks much more like v1 - colors at least.

To me it looks like the colors of Zukuss could be a question of the lack of weathering. In this picture the base color of the coat material seems like it’s far darker than it appears on screen. If you weather that coat with a light dry brush it will get very close to accurate.

Actually pretty impressed with the detailing on this figure. The head sculpt is very nice and the slight weathering on the pouches although hard to capture in photo's is actually well done. Only Dengar left for me now!

Great pics. LOVE the detail on this figure.:clap

Agreed, but my feeling is it's all about how it looks onscreen (ie regardless of the actual colors of the costume or whatever) - even if this may lead to a discussion about a certain Hoth coat.:monkey3:lol

I'm a bit stressed about the idea of dry-brushing this coat because of the sheen. I was building an Indiana Jones 1/6 saddle a few months ago and was using pale pleather and the paint just wouldn't stay matte - kept going weird and super gloss. I worry the same might happen with this pleather. I'm really bummed they didn't lighten it a bit. It's so dark chocolate colored.

Is anyone willing to give the dry-brush a try?

And all the pouches open (with magnets).

Which seems like a bit of extra unnecessary detailing.

Pretty happy overall with the details on Zuckuss. But damn that dark jacket material scares the crap out of me!! The articulation for me seems really restricted too, but I guess he'll have a pretty static pose for most people.

Seeing his feet so prominently is irritating - even the proto got it right! :( HT Leia dress anyone?

Maybe these manufacturers are obsessed with Michael Jackson?

Will you be doing a video review or just the pics?

He looks like he needs to be 1/2" shorter, so with that done you won't really see the feet, and the shorter body will hopefully make the slightly undersized head seem a little bigger in comparison.

I think it looks great, waiting on dengar to see If I get 20 off code before ordering. I'm not really worried about the coatbecause when it flakes off I'll try airbrushing it. The skin tone can be darkened if you want, just keep dabbing anything black or brown on your finger and rub it in as much as you like. I would wait until the coat flakes though.

Yikes. You seem pretty sure the coat will flake! The one issue is that when my Hasbro Zuckuss coat flaked, the way it came apart didn't really leave much of a fabric backing - it was more like a compressed felt, so when the paint flaked, the whole coat disintegrated rather than paint flaking off a fabric backer (that could then be repainted)

This is sideshow, too quality materials! Probably won't even flake.:)
