Oh you can bet that someone out there is proud of that transforming table. I have a hunch that we haven't seen the last of it just yet
I’m sure this will come as a great surprise (as long as you ignore my entire profile), but I completely agree. She’s so intense in a great way, and she doesn‘t need tons of dialogue to make an impression and give you a lot to think about. I think both her and Stevenson are the absolute standouts from a performance perspective as well, adding so much depth and history to them. It’s kind of the way Lucas introduced antagonists like Boba and even Vader in ANH that would go on to be fan favourites. Not a lot of dialogue, not a lot of backstory in the beginning. All left up to you, the viewer. Leaving you with questions.I don’t collect Hot Toys but if I ever do they will be Shin Hati hot toys
I am really digging this character.. Man I hope they don’t ruin her by having her come to the good side.
This is the most I have enjoyed a new SW character in a long time.
Yeah her intense looks and presence won me over right away. Boba Fett is a good comparison (from the OT) because she looks cool and you know there is a history there.I’m sure this will come as a great surprise (as long as you ignore my entire profile), but I completely agree. I’d personally really love to see some more hints of her backstory with Baylan and how their relationship was forged before we lose Ray Stevenson’s magnetic performance. I think it’d be powerful if it involves some kind of tragedy/trauma that kind of explains this darkness that’s overtly present for her, especially during combat. I think thematically it would really express what I feel Filoni is going for with the more ‘grey morality’ being portrayed. Giving reason to why Baylan would be magnanimous to her. But we’ll have to see. As a viewer I really want to see this story AND I also want to see what Shin would do without Baylan’s guiding hand there. A hand which presumably has been there for as long as she can really remember. Where she’d have to make her own choice. In every scene the two share, she’s constantly looking for his guidance, which is cool to differentiate them from other dark side users, but also leaves her own personal goals up to interpretation.
Another small detail I’ve been thinking about is the fact that she easily could have escaped instead of fighting Sabine, yet she stayed. Perhaps that’s the first ‘Jedi’ she’s ever met, and she wants to learn more about them in some way, but that’s immediately cut off by the duel. That’s when that far-off, angry look returns, and she’s back focused on the mission. Then she sees this ‘Jedi’ is completely incompetent. That’s really kind of all me reading into Ivanna Sakhno’s performance though, so who knows if Filoni actually thought that through.
After the first two I kind of thought she might turn back, but I now think it’d be a waste. It also wouldn’t work in the way the show is playing it, these characters are not meant to be all good or all evil. I do think it’s interesting that her entire perception of the Jedi has been laid on her by a master who is completely disillusioned with the order.
Looking to the future, she could be a real physical antagonist throughout the Mandoverse playing off of Thrawn’s mental abilities, rather than them having to go about introducing another new force user down the line for Ahsoka, Ezra and Sabine to fight.
But yeah, I completely agree, fantastic character because of the subtleties and the mysteries. Really loving her and hope they utilise her as well as they’ve set her up. Baylan and her have given me some hope for Star Wars again because they’re not characters which require homework. They’re just new, really interestingly portrayed characters with a lot of depth.
That’s totally valid! I get that point of view completely. Like you said, trusting Disney SW at this point to deliver the kind of stuff I would want to see with her is like walking into McDonald’s and expecting a five star restaurant. It’s just not happening. I would love for there to be understandable motives and reasons for how we ended up here with her, but at the same time, she’s still leaning way more dark side. I think you could do that really effectively, but again, trusting them on hitting that balance is just a bad idea.Yeah her intense looks and presence won me over right away. I am not sure I want any back story… We saw how that went for fett. Sometimes it’s good to have your own made up lore.
I would be so cool with her being bad just for the sake of being bad and wanting power. Good enough for me.
But that’s my fear of them screwing her up. Making her sympathetic or something.
She'll turn good just like Asajj Ventress did.Yeah her intense looks and presence won me over right away. Boba Fett is a good comparison (from the OT) because she looks cool and you know there is a history there.

She turned good? Why does that remind me of Grace Jones in a View to a Kill....She'll turn good just like Asajj Ventress did.
She walks away from the Sith order, becomes a bounty hunter, and briefly teams up with Ahsoka toward the end.She turned good? Why does that remind me of Grace Jones in a View to a Kill....

I think one of the Disney novels then made her a lesbian and killed her off but we'll see if that stays "canon" or not.
yeah I agree. But something weird was going on there......OMFG. I didn’t see that coming at the end. This episode had so much tension and quite a few surprises. Also I’m now dying laughing over all the silly Marrok theories.
Weird with Marrok? Yeah, what was that green stuff?yeah I agree. But something weird was going on there......
Looked like ashes....Weird with Marrok? Yeah, what was that green stuff?
