Might aswell bring back Han too - by whatever means Darth Maul has come back. Throw more money at Ford.

Oh thank goodness Rose is back! Can't wait to blow my load when I get to see her on screen again! #RiseForRose

Luke might as well been Ghost Luke last time to be honest...

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Why do I feel like this movie will retcon TLJ and people will suddenly see it as the greatest franchise ever again lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

It is...too late to retcon, my son. Rian will show you the true nature of Star Wars. He is your master now.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Well since JJ is a LESS talented filmmaker than Rian I highly doubt he will fix anything that fans hate about the ST especially since the hate started with TFA so JJ is part of the ST problem.

Unless the directive from Disney is “GIVE EVERYTHING THE PISSED OFF FANS WANT, EVERYTHING”

Then Instant Masterpiece lol

That's debatable. And I don't recall much hatred aimed at TFA? A little disappointment from some corners due to it being a safe movie sure, but no real hate. It was just an okay movie in most regards. TLJ was a whole different story.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

See for me TLJ is a better movie than TFA so you’re not going to get anywhere with me lol

TFA was bland.

TLJ took more risks.

If anything not enough risks are being taken i’m almost thinking director M Night should’ve been given the reigns from the very start.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

M Night would’ve started with our victorious post ROTJ Republic being led by the very wise Luke (jedi academy), Leia (congress), Han/Chewie (intelligence), Ackbar (military), Lando (economy), C3PO (education) BUT in true M Night fashion things are not what they seem.

The lightside and darkside have joined forces in a shocking plot twist that would unravel and shatter all that we had come to know about Luke and the Skywalker history!

Msybe Han is not who he seems! :horror

I'll agree that TFA was bland for sure. But TLJ didn't so much take risks as just ditch much of the established aspects of the franchise, and throw certain characters under the bus just for the sake of being different. You can take risks without intentionally alienating large parts of the fan base. Still, this isn't the thread for this discussion, we can debate all of this for eternity in the TLJ thread. Here's to hoping that this one pleases us both....

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Watching Hamill act his ass off in TLJ was enough to keep me engaged the dude did better than Ford in his last 15 films.

Again, I agree he did very well with what he was given. Which was sadly not a great role. And Mark has made his opinion on that pretty clear. Imagine how good he'd have been with a proper Luke Skywalker script... Maybe we'll see some of that in EP: 9.

Ford was pretty good in Age of Adaline (the one with the oft-mentioned Anthony Ingruber playing the younger version of Ford's character)

Remember when in the OT? Well, we're going to do the opposite of that!

All those fan theories? They suck! But we're not even going to try to come up with something better!

So subversive. Such unpredictable. Amazing masterpiece!

It is...too late to retcon, my son.
