Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Mace Windu: I sense a plot to destroy the Jedi.

Yoda: A massive centralized effort it would take, and overwhelming force, for endangered the Jedi Order to be.

Plo Koon: Then, might this have something to do with the Clone Army? The one started by a former Jedi . . . in secret . . . and apparently continued to be financed by an unknown source?

Ki-Adi-Mundi: Don't be such a friggin' drama queen, Plo. Pfft; as if!

[Rest of the Jedi Council share a hearty laugh]

''The dark side of the force surrounds the Chancellor''

Hmmmmm

later -

Anakin - the Chancellor is the Sith lord. The one we've been looking for.

Windu - What?!

:lol :lol

"If this is true then our greatest fears have been realized!"

"But Master doesn't fear lead to the--"

"Quiet! If this is true then we must act immediately!"

*Mace then continues casually walking at the absolutely slowest speed possible*

Oh lord what a confused, terrible movie. If it were a Monty Python sketch it'd be quite good.

He was pondering which kick-*** Jedi he should take with him to confront Palpatine. Y'know . . . the kind that can last a whole five seconds before reaaaally slow and textbook lunging stabs from Palps kills them. :lol

EDIT (to add a video clip, because this really needs to be seen rather than just described).

What the hell was that first slain Jedi looking at? :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

The internet keeps telling me that Ep 9 is going to be amazing, so I know it must be April 1st.

And that scene is from the "good" Prequel movie!

How anybody can complain about any of the new movies is beyond me.

Why is Palpy making those faces during the fight? Did Lucas suggest that Ian McDairmad should stick his tongue out, or make Oooh faces during the fight?

When they release the eventual 4k versions, the PQ should have a music soundtrack/Fx only audio option. That way you can watch it with the great John Williams music and the cool special effects sounds only, while not having to tune out the awful dialogue. :yess:

:lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Wow I completely missed what date it was. Someone could have pulled one over on me today.

The only bogus article I found was that Hasbro was losing the Marvel license at the end of the year and it was going to Mattel.. Was a good laugh.

It's a good thing that scene wasn't released today! I can only imagine the headlines at CNN: "Palpatine mocks mentally disabled Jedi during lightsaber duel," lol.

Actually, yes. I recently read an interview where McDiarmid thought it was too over the top but Lucas kept egging him on!

Will we get 4K versions of II and III, given they were shot digitally in 1080p?

Alright, now I'm convinced Lucas was trying to pull a Producers on this one.

Springtime for Palpatine, ...in Coruscant.

Ah, so it's possible for them to look decent?

And of course 8K is just around the corner...
Unless 8K features glasses free 3D, I think I'll stop at 4K.

Then again, I might have said something like that when 4K came out. ...and now I have 3 4K TV's

Yeah, they'll most likely be some nice improvements. All 3 of the Avengers movies (Avengers, AOU & even IW) 4k releases were fake 4k upscaled versions. And most reviews said they were far superior to the 1080p BD versions. Of course, the biggest factor with 4k re-releases is the improved HDR contrast and color.

Here's a good website with a list. You'd be surprised as to which and how many movies are not true 4k masters.

Without looking at that list, I can tell you Wonder Woman was fake 4K. It looked pretty bad.

8k is a waste. Even 4k benefits are negligible. Unless your buying rather large TV's (over 65") and are sitting relatively close (only a few feet away). The real visual improvement/enhancement is HDR/Dolby Vision with the improved contrast and color pallet. Without that it'd be real hard to even see much of a difference between 1080p & 4k. Especially on smaller screens.

8k's only real benefit is for ridiculously large screens. Like 100" and greater. But that's how they will sell the public on 8k. 3D TV's without glasses.

I couldn't see the difference at first, but now I notice the grain on 1080p images immediately, and I only have a 55" TV.
