Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I don’t know if you collect SW toys but that BS Mace is amazing.

All PT Jedi action figures should come with dunce caps lol

Parents were awesome in the 70's. Exorcist, Jaws, Marathon Man, Blazing Saddles... sure kid, here's two dollars, go see it.

My parents were so freaking busy they had no clue were I was going lol

I honestly don’t know how I didn’t get kidnapped, killed, raped, sold into child sex slavery, turned into a thief etc

I remember going "what the **********!???" In 1982 while watching the dog's face open up in The Thing after my dad brought home the VHS for me to watch by myself assuming it was just some random space movie, lol.

lolololol

Hell, Jaws became a "family film". :lol

lololol

Damn. Y’all really hate the PT but are really ok with these films? Lmao. I don’t understand

I don't like the ST either but for mostly different reasons.

I remember seeing one that looked great, was it a 6''? I don't collect 6'' at all. And I stopped collecting the PT at 3.75 a long while back.

You mean Jaws, Exorcist, Blazing Saddles and The Thing? 4 classics?

Uhhhh.... yeah.

Blazing saddles? That movie wouldn’t even see the light of day today. Lol. I was so surprised when I watched that movie. The amount of hard R n words lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Forget not knowing about it, my parents were taking me to R-rated (and worse) Horror movies when I was 5 years old. The first one I remember was The Awakening.

And yes, no way in hell would Blazing Saddles get made today, the same can be said of the TV show, All in the Family.

My mother supported my love of SW and horror movies and I was a Smith/Baker/Bottin/Savini fanatic at a very young age plus my love of 80’s metal and guitar playing and I was only 20 when I made Cannibal Campout.

I did have nightmares after The Howling though lol

My brothers were like don’t worry you’ll be fine. :lol

Yup 6” I can’t believe how near perfect the likeness is to SLJ on a $25 action figure.

He will be posed in his pondering chin stroke look lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

My parents took the family to a drive in to see a double feature of Animal House and The Blues Brothers....I was 5. I had my eyes covered for alot of that night.

After that my film going experiences were curtailed to PG only.

Once I could take off on my bike to a local cinema at about 10, I took myself to quite a few movies....
Ghostbusters, Gremlins, Raiders, Back to the Future, Critters and Ghoulies, The Last Starfighter, Enemy Mine, to name a few.
They all had to be PG however.

Those cinema experiences were the best ones.

I was beyond shocked that Netflix recently added Blazing Saddles to the streaming line-up.

And yeah that SLJ BS figure is insane.

Gotta love those PG movies back in the day. In 6th grade our teacher once let the class watch Clash of the Titans. I still remember all us boys holding our breath not saying a word as the teacher graded papers at her desk, totally oblivious of the bare breasts on full display just several feet away, lol.

Yeah, they'll most likely be some nice improvements. All 3 of the Avengers movies (Avengers, AOU & even IW) 4k releases were fake 4k upscaled versions. And most reviews said they were far superior to the 1080p BD versions. Of course, the biggest factor with 4k re-releases is the improved HDR contrast and color.

Here's a good website with a list. You'd be surprised as to which and how many movies are not true 4k masters.

Good to know, thanks! :duff:

I assume this applies to streaming versions as well? Do they all use the same source?

Lucas: "Well, it'll be even clearer because I'll have Ian make really weird faces, and do strange grunting noises. And wait'll you find out how I plan to show Anakin's turn a couple minutes later! People aren't even going to believe it!"

:slap

:lol

I *did* like how he momentarily appeared lizardlike (unless I was seeing things).

I give that scene a pass because the Jedi were still in denial about the Sith, and hesitant to hurt their own boss. It took the others getting dispatched for Mace to WTFU and realise he was fighting for his life.

Her teeth grinding faces kinda turn me on

Luke concurs!

I'll never forget seeing Airplane! The Movie in the theater in 1980 with some friends. I was 8. Nice PG rating.... And then BAMN!! Naked lady with big bouncy tattas flashes on the screen!! 2 BJ scenes... Greatest Movie Ever... :rotfl

Yeah, Nudity in PG movies back in the day... :yess:
