RO and Solo not having an opening crawl is a disgrace.

Sorry jye but the British YouTuber with the piano said that RO not having a crawl was a good example of subverting expectations and the piano trumps all, lol.

I see that I'm in the minority because I love the music for RO and Solo.

Interestingly enough Solo's opening text does kind of read like a mini-crawl:

It is a lawless time.
CRIME SYNDICATES compete for resources - food, medicine, and HYPERFUEL.
On the shipbuilding planet of CORELLIA, the foul LADY PROXIMA forces runaways into a life of crime in exchange for shelter and protection.
On these mean streets, a young man fights for survival, but yearns to fly among the stars....

It is a period of great discontent among Star Wars fans
In just the latest of many slights against the franchise
A forum member named Wor-Gar has declared his hate for opening crawls!

That Solo text should?ve been part of the crawl.

But that RO opening just feels wrong.

Lifeless.

I love the RO opening. It’s a nitty-gritty story that doesn’t need the pomp & circumstance. Especially considering it’s summarized in ANH’s crawl.

Okay here you go:

But now I'm so used to it the other way having a scroll feels wrong, lol.

I actually really like how the title appears after Saw discovers Jyn.

"It is almost a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships are planning to strike from a hidden base, hoping to win their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. Prior to the battle Rebel spies will..."

Does anyone think it?s ridiculous that he is the new supreme leader and didn?t try a new mask :lecture

The real reason, as explained by Esquire:

Star Wars fans were quick to compare this fractured helmet imagery to the Japanese process of "Kintsugi." This ancient ceramics method entails piecing back together broken shards of pottery, encouraging an acceptance of one's past?a concept that is particularly interesting for a character who has literally said "Let the past die. Kill it if you have to." And now we have proof that the fans were right. J.J. Abrams confirmed in an interview with Empire that Kintsugi is a factor at play in Rise of Skywalker for Adam Driver's rage-induced dark lord. He said:

Having [Kylo Ren] be masked, but also fractured, is a very intentional thing. Like that classic Japanese process of taking ceramics and repairing them, and how the breaks in a way define the beauty of the piece as much as the original itself. As fractured as Ren is, the mask becomes a visual representation of that. There?s something about this that tells his history. His mask doesn?t ultimately hide him and his behavior is revealed.

A lot of words to explain a very simple and clich? idea: Kylo is fractured = mask is literally fractured

Symbolism 101

And no Star Wars fans know that the **** Kintsugi is... or care.

Luke saw Ben do the Jedi mind trick with his own two eyes. He was aware it was something that a Jedi could do.

Rey pulled it out of her ass. Cause she's magic.

I'm assuming your questions are rhetorical cause surely you've seen the deleted scenes in Ben's hut where Luke finishes his saber and puts it into Artoo.

Now the real life behind the scenes reason Luke's saber looks like Ben's is cause it IS Ben's. Or at least, it was a similar prop. But I don't think it's a stretch by any means that he went back to Ben's hut, found instructions on building a saber, along with extra hilts and crystals.

Rey on the other hand seems to taped Anakin's saber back together. Look at the pics of the accessories that come with the SHF figure. There's a brown band around the center. She taped it. Problem solved.

Still doesn't explain how she magically decided she could control that Stormtrooper without ever knowing such a thing was possible.

God I hate Rey.

I know you hate Rey, but it clearly clouds your judgement.

Literally EVERYONE knows of the Jedi mind trick.....Hell Jabba knew of it, and its clear Rey knew the stories of the Jedi, and would know about the powers they possessed from the legends. She knew they could move stuff as she clearly stated in TLJ, its not a huge leap to think she knew of other powers.

So Luke ? saw it ? and they makes him suddenly able to ?do it?? He certainly didn?t receive any training on it...

Just as Rey had hear of it, and was able to do it.

Please do not use deleted scenes to explain why your hero Luke could do stuff that you think Rey would not be able to do.... its silly. In that world, all it takes is a deleted scene to explain why Rey can do it....
