Yeah I know Disney bought the rights to exploit the OT but I'm not buying anything with the words "Skywalker saga" attached to Rey.

They aren?t marketing it.

I love how we had all these girl lead movies and nobody is supporting them even tho they keep crying we need more. It?s like they don?t watch movies they just want to complain and whine . Hmmmm

Suicide Squad was one of the worst damn movies I have ever seen. I wanted to get up out of the theater and leave long before it ended but I kept thinking it had to get better. It never did. I can't emphasize enough how terrible that movie was. I would expect this new version to be more of the same except with girl power. I'll never find out though.

One of my many, many.....MANY criticisms of these garbage movies is that they didn't even bother to take 30 seconds to ATTEMPT to explain how Luke's lightsaber ended up in Maz Kanata's basement at all.

Well Disney SW lovers.....buckle the **** up, cause now it's time for ANSWERS.

And it's answers in the only form we ever get answers....COMIC BOOK FORM. You know....cause why waste 30 seconds of precious 2 and a half hour screen time explaining crucial plot details?

Then why the hell didn?t she just say that? Acted like it was some big secret. It could?ve taken 30 seconds to just say

O someone sold it to me.

Instead she says ? that?s a story for another time?

Lol making it seem like the story was deeper than it was.

Well, the visual dictionary has already been retconned, cause the comic is CANON!

And in the comic, some mystery Jedi/robed character is waiting at the bottom of the chasm and catches the saber.

Yep. Just standing there. At the bottom of some miles long chasm. Watching with binoculars or something while Luke and Vader fight, just waiting for that saber. Pretty convenient. Pretty weird. Where'd the hand go?

(It's not entirely outlandish of an idea to retrieve the saber. I personally never liked it, but it was "EU canon" pretty much since the early 90s with Heir to the Empire. In that book it was the same thing...they retrieve it from the mines but it still has Luke's hand attached, and they make a Luke clone from the DNA....called....Luuke. Yeah. And if I'm not mistaken, Mara Jade used it as her main lightsaber for a while before she got her own, so there must have been some story where it got destroyed or lost for good back in the old EU but I never read it.)

Old news. The TROS visual dictionary already stated that it was salvaged by the mining colony on Cloud City and later sold to Maz.

Then why the hell didn?t she just say that? Acted like it was some big secret. It could?ve taken 30 seconds to just say

O someone sold it to me.

It doesn't actually state she bought it, but:

"It was salvaged from the mining colony's industrial depths and eventually found its way into Maz Kanata's possession."

Earlier in the book it says: "Maz promises to someday tell the story of how she acquired it."

Presumably Disney are preparing to milk that story for a novel or a comic book.

Are folks actually surprised this was never answered? Come on, people - J.J. Abrams was the co-creator of Lost, the undisputed champion of all film & TV projects with respect to unanswered questions. This is in his DNA...

Why give all the answers? Keep the fans on the hook for future movies/comics /novels etc. Why do so many seem to need all minute details spoon fed to them? An inference here and there to keep the story moving on. Don't forget that SW since it's inception has been plagued by numerous gaping plot holes, that get filled in from time to time, and always not always to the 'fans'' satisfaction.
