Rian Johnson thought he'd knocked it out of the park with TLJ but in the end he just...

I think any time someone here is included in a funny picture or meme that it should be considered a compliment. You have been recognized.

Yeah I hear you on that. :) But I'm talking about the ongoing tactic from no one but bashers of resorting to sexual/lewd personal insults against people they disagree with. It's interesting that there is such a correlation between that type of behavior and those who bash the film the most. Also interesting that none of the remaining bashers ever seem to do the math as to why their fellows are getting themselves banned. It's not hard to figure out but playing victim to the notion that "if you didn't like the movie you'll get infracted or banned" must be easier than facing reality I guess.

Obviously none of this is directed at you Wor-Gar but that's because you're one of like two people who hated the movie yet are still mature enough to have a civil discussion about it.

But whatever, I'm sure everything I said will fall on deaf ears anyway and we'll continue to see more of the same until only the grown-ups remain.

are you saying they are depraved degenerates?

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

C'mon bye... you're reaching... :rolleyes2

What did Alien 3 haters complain about the most?

Characters from Aliens being treated completely different than they expected because their expected trajectory course coming out of Aliens was completely ignored by the change in director.

Sound familiar?

Clearly TLJ being the # 1 in bluray sales doesn’t match up with your photo there.

are you saying they are depraved degenerates?

I thought it was basket of deplorables?

so then you DO AGREE that the characters in The Last Jedi were treated badly,

Because anyone on earth that saw alien 3 can agree that those characters were wasted and treated horribly. so if that was the complaint of alien 3 which is fair complaint, then the complaint over the last jedi is fair as well

thank you jye :lol you just solved the mystery right here

Good try but the forbes critic is the one who brought up Aliens/Alien3 not me.

Take it up with abake he’s the one refusing to see what the critic was trying to correlate with that comparison.

I’m simply just pointing out the fact that it’s just another another TLJ hater complaining about the same thing, didn’t get the trajectory they wanted.

he says characters in alien 3 were treated badly.
thats a fact

he says characters in the last jedi are equally treated badly.
uses alien 3 as and example...

you see the conundrum?

You're dangerously close to bein' on my ignore list!
Don't you dissapoint me like that again. :D

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

alien 3 is a comfy movie with really cool bald characters that destroys and completely trashes the characters from the previous movie for shock factor.

All you’re accomplishing is getting under Riddick’s skin not mine lol

I might not have a bridge I can sell you but I do have a batmobile lololol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

ALIENS is a comfy movie for general audience. It's a stupid blockbuster sequel to a classic sci-fi horror.
That's why ALIEN3 is great. It takes everything comfy and silly from the audience and goes back to its roots. BOOM! Suddenly yall fall from warn and fuzzy skies back on dirty and cold earth, experiencing mature themes in a movie with mature tone. Crybabies.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Khev did you hear!

The entire United States rejected Rian by making TLJ the number 1 selling bluray!

That’s harsh...crash and burn Rian crash AND burn lol

:lol :lol

And I'll laugh even harder if the worldwide once-in-a-century phenomenon that is Black Panther can't catch the "universally hated" TLJ...

BTW I'm thinking I might need to catch a third showing of RPO tonight. :rock

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I used to dislike Alien 3 as a kid, and I mean really dislike for all reasons people give. I watched the assembly cut a few years back on Blu-ray and had to reassess my thoughts on the film completely. Other than one small pacing change to Ripley's death fall at the end, it's a massively superior version to the theatrical by a longshot IMO. :lecture

Just don't say anything positive about A3 in the NECA thread or you'll be sorry. :lol

they could have said that hicks and the girl returned to earth.
get rid of them if you want.

killing them was an edgy ridiculous way to try to shock the audience. it might as well be a jump scare.

it served nothing to the story (ripley was already all depressed about losing her daughter on earth) so we didnt need the extra agony and their deaths didnt add anything to the xenomorph story or anything.

the movie has enough dread with the prisoners on its own. the movie was dark and gritty on its own. killing them at the beginning was a lazy cheap shot. a lazy way of working their story.

imagine if they killed characters any time studios wanted a sequel... just because the characters dont work with your new story

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Some have argued that ALIENS had a too-tidy surviving family unit that’s a bit too happily ever after for what preceded it.

I like them both. Never bothered me.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I think ALIENS is fine. T2 has the same "happily ever after" ending.

I've never seen Alien 3 tho.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Oh look another reviewer pissed off that Rian didn’t give him what he had meticulously built up in his mind for these characters after TFA going so far as to compare it to the Aliens/Alien3 character direction changes.

Yawn lol

But i’m happy to see that Snikt found work at Forbes. :lol

Umm, did you read it? That's not what the review actually says.

"pissed off that Rian didn’t give him what he had meticulously built up in his mind for these characters"?

No, he's saying its a poorly made film on technical levels - poorly conceived story and scenes (both in drama and comedic moments.) That it fails on a basic filmmaking level.

He's not saying "Rose sucks" and "feminist agenda" and "I hate what they did to Luke" - he doesn't even seem to be much of a SW fan.

You always cry "narrative!" but have one of your own.

Khev did you hear!

OMG... a main line Star Wars trilogy film, the first sequel to the highest domestic grosser of all time, with the first reappearance of Luke Skywalker's story onscreen after 35 years ... is the #1 selling bluray in its first week of release? SHOCKER!:horror:slap

:lol
