I would think Legacy can be best appreciated after reading NJO, and the Dark Nest is an important bridge too, but NJO really changes the galaxy. On the other hand I supose we got along with the OT before knowing what changed the galaxy, so I guess if someone just fills you in on the high points that would help. I can't wait to see how Legacy turns out. Its funny because the first Legacy book came out just beofre I went in to grad school and the last will come out the month I graduate.

i think you can read legacy without the njo stuff (i've given the legacy stuff to several friends who only needed 'minor' filling in)...but i agree it is especially cool after reading all the njo series and having been with these characters since 'day 1' so to speak.

yeah i'm waiting to finish njo before i read legacy....i'm on book 4...loooooong way to go. it would help if i didn't buy the other books from the OT and PT that they come out with. also today i bought the transformers book that is supposed to be a prequel to the movie....i'll never get around to legacy now that i think about it.

lol..awesome. i'm the same way. the 'books waiting to be read stack' never seems to get any shorter.

I'm the same way, my books I want to read list keeps getting longer instead of shorter, and I read about two books a week.

My problem is that while I'd like to read more I would rather spend the money on food or electronics. But some time I'm going to have to get the rest of the NJO books, I got started at Dark Journey and now I need to read the 9 before that.

I'm also considering doing my final Senior project over the NJO, like a really cool 3D animated trailer as if they were going to be made into movies, that'd be cool.

Starlog #16, September 1978:

"Although Splinter is officially being tagged as being the sequel to Star Wars, it is not the story that is already in production for the film Star Wars II. That Skywalker opus originated in that typewriter of the late SF great Leigh Brackett. Although Foster has been out of the movie this time around, his Star Wars contract does allow Splinter to be filmed in the future, perhaps as one of the nine planned sequels to the original film."
