I'll never understand why some people get bent out of shape when the conversation about a figure sometimes wanders into the subject matter of said figure. It's always been a thing. Skip over the discussion then. Nobody is forcing you to participate.
Not bent out of shape. Just want to read about the figure and waiting for a PO link to be posted. It’s a bit disappointing to see it bumped by the same tired di$ney $uck$ conversation. I’ll never understand why some people get bent out of shape when someone observes that a conversation is straying off topic. Post about the TV show in the TV show thread. It’s not closed. Why would they have to wait. Lucas was dumb enough to do it himself after he made those crappy prequels and added a “spirit” Hayden in place of Shaw at the end of ROTJ for the “Special Editions” — the only versions available now.

Is it just me or should this guy be a little beefier? Looks a little skinny to me

I hear you but to be fair, that’s pretty much what happened in the show aside from the helmet and back strike damage. The show was so dark we couldn’t really see much else.

Brah Obi-Wan literally rocked Vader’s world; he’s going to look worse than the figure does. Dusty at least. :lol

I think it’s fair to expect more of a figure intended to represent this pivotal moment the entire show led up to. Especially considering the figure meant to accompany it.

Even if it’s dark, we can reasonably extrapolate that a battle damaged figure should look like this:

And not this:

The damaged helmet looks great and it seems like a good clean Vader but it’s still mostly just a clean Vader. Feels more like a cutaway from a visual dictionary than how he’d probably look during and after the duel.

This is a half hearted attempt at representing battle damaged Vader at best, probably born from only having references to the clean Vader from LFL since the duel was likely kept a secret from licensees. They probably had a Kenobi Vader ready to go but whipped up these damaged parts last minute.

And then they made the clean parts the Deluxe to squeeze a little extra money out of people who are in need of a regular looking Vader for their collection.

I’m not hating on the figure per se; I have a couple of Vaders already but I’ll still likely get this if it’s all we’re getting. I definitely don’t appreciate the weird decisions and sales tactics going on though.

Just as I never understood why people would stray off topic to get all bent out of shape about recasts.... when they had their own recast project years earlier - of a smashed Vader reveal helmet no less.:wink1:

And with that... we're back on topic!:lol

I don’t even remember what your talking about. Someone sure got BOOS (bent-out-of-shape) 15 years later! (I’m sure you’ll remind me though :lol )

…. Still waiting for that preorder…

My take on the suit not being overly dirty or battle damaged is it still needs to work for the people who are getting the deluxe and want to display the regular look for Vader. I think it looks fine as is personally.

I get that in a practical sense, but the problem is that they’ve turned what’s an otherwise clean figure into the battle damaged version because the Standard only comes with the damaged parts.

At its core, this is for all intents and purposes their battle damaged Vader and it doesn’t fully work as that. And it’s disappointing knowing this is probably all we’re going to get.

The Deluxe accessories being the clean parts just really feels like a manipulative way to get people to pay more for the Deluxe to have a clean Vader.

They should really have two separate Vaders - a dedicated battle damaged Vader and a clean one.

The battle damages look half assed cause the figure have to switch between clean and damaged look. To look fully battle damaged they'll have to split into two releases. And since they won't do that we get half *** looking damage like the iron man figures

I like the option of the deluxe package. I may even shoot for the damaged pieces on my ANH vader if the body is better/bigger on the new one, or vice versa.

I bet you don't. :rotfl And your recast project may be an oh-so-foggy more than ten years ago, but you calling out people over recasts is not.

Selective memory should be a designated disorder, at least for the "don't get so bent out of shape" crowd... who routinely get bent out of shape themselves.

Within the rules, just let people say what they want to say (discussing Vader from Kenobi - or other Kenobi villains - in a Vader from Kenobi figure thread is about as mild as "off topic" gets)... otherwise the pharmacy will order up another dose of selective memory treatment.😇

But yes... back to the figure PO and yes curious on the price of this.😬

Doubtful that the new body will be bigger. It would have to be a newly developed body. The ANH Vaders use the Man of Steel body which is one of the biggest bodies they have while the Rogue One Vader uses the smaller Christopher Reeve Superman body. Judging by how thin the arms look on this one, I'd say it's probably also on the Reeve body.

Not if (when...) season 2 is announced. I mean what else can they do in season 2 but another couple of Kenobi vs Vader duels - that will make Vader a bit damaged, even if he prevails this time and kills badly wounds cripples chops off a limb says some very cruel things while standing over Obi Wan.

And HT will throw in a peekaboo-Ani helmet and crunched chestbox to make the second release the DX-DX Vader covering all his looks in Kenobi.

- One (1) pair of Third Sister’s lightsabers

Looks like no Third Sister then........Hot Toys always gives you accessories that can't be used.
Anakin had Dookus sabre...
Dooku came out.
Would be hilarious if they made Reva after no one asked for her...but Bespin Han...☺
