They're the only ones I watch... I find that when the OT SEs are on TV that I'm distracted each and every time an altered scene comes on the screen. Every single modified portion stands out, and not in a good way, battle of Yavin scenes being one major exception...

I guess we have to come to terms with the fact that this is not done entirely for us but to hook future generations who haven't seen the original versions hundreds and hundreds of times each. :dunno

Yeah, although i'm not put off by the SE that much, nothing compares to seeing them and feeling like i'm at the theater when they first came out.

He has said over the last several years at least SW is more the story of Anakin Skywalker than anyone else so that makes sense.

Screw both Vader and Luke, R2 is the real hero of the whole thing, if it wasn't for him, they'll all be dead.

I can't post that wank .gif while at work but you get the point. Besides I thought the true hero was Eragon and the Hobbits when they went to modern day San Francisco to save the whales in an alternate timeline where the Millennium Falcon looks like an Apple store, no?

You can buy the t-shirt and lithos separate for $9.99 or free with the set.

Stopped at Target first thing this morning and bought the Saga and free lithos. Glad I stopped there first, they only had about 5 sets of lithos in the display.

Went to Best Buy to check out the shirts and found out you could buy them separate so I got a shirt there. All the Saga sets they had at Best Buy had the security tags with the wires so tight around the box that they were all messed up.

Worst Buy strikes again. :lol

And that is what upsets me! Vader is not a hero, he's selfish and evil and puts his own desires ahead of those he cares for... I could easily say that Luke is my favorite character, so taking the emphasis away from him and lumping it onto Vader ruins the overall story in my eyes. SW, as we knew it as children, was a story of a boy and his great coming of age adventure, and all the Joseph Campbell related messages that went along with it... Lucas then created the PT which should have been about a flawed character turning truly evil. Lucas instead made Vader sympathetic character, so that begs the question, why? Well, it's pretty obvious that this franchise, that we all hold so dearly, is no longer about the story, but about merchandise and keeping the cash cow as relevant as possible so future generations keep dumping their hard earned money into merchandise.

____ you, Lucas. Jerk face.

For me during the PT and watching Anakin's fall I find it sad. In the end he's just trying to do what he can to save the people he loves, and all he does is allow himself to become evil for not seeing what is going to happen. So I do feel bad for Vader that he is what he is now because he didn't think before he jumped (no pun intended). I like that Luke decides to save his Dad and can relate to that because I'm close with my Dad but thats the only part of Luke that I've ever cared for.

Well that's dumb. The set just arrived at the DHL facility in Salt Lake. This means they are going to hand it over to USPS which means no delivery for me until Monday. Buggers.

Something about the combination of the newest round of changes and Spielberg's comments about being "robbed of our memories" has finally caused me to 100% forsake any and all things "special edition" with the OT.

I'll never watch anything other than the original OT, regardless of picture quality.

That sucks, man. At least you can watch the Harmy versions. :naughty

Khev, welcome to the family. :1-1:

The discs are in the house. Man, the artwork on these are ugly as hell! The Darth Maul painting is atrocious and borderline offensive it's so ugly.

:lol :1-1:

I was speaking with regard to the original trilogy. Only original, non-SE's from here on out. I still like the PT though. Am I still in the family? :lol

Bought the blu-rays on my lunch break. Got the last set of the Complete Saga at my local Walmart. Can't wait to get home and watch 'em. :D

Anyone get the target lithos? Are they worth running out there fast this morning?

I'm hoping to get those, but have to wait til after work. hopefully they still have them. Best Buy has a Tshirt though.

Also if you end up going to walmart, make sure to tell them Target and Best Buy both have them advertised for $79.99. last I checked Wal Mart has it for $89.99 and so they should price match.

I got them, haven't opened mine but they disappeared ridiculously fast in my area. One employee said they only got like 10 of them.

I rushed out this morning to get the lithos also. Got em' home, opened em' up and I feel that they are of good quality and can displayed as small artwork with any Star Wars collectibles. Definitely worth the trip. They do seem to be limited as the store that I went to only had 7 of them and after I bought my set they only have six. In my opinion the lithos is the best freebie that is being offered from all the freebies for purchase of the sets.

The artwork is the 1st major letdown of this set. The release of Star Wars should have been spectacular.

Agreed completely.
I was never a fan of Luke, I always rooted for Vader.

You all do realize that SW will be released again on Bluray with even more changes to the films, right?

I'm not falling for it.
