I'm hoping to get those, but have to wait til after work. hopefully they still have them. Best Buy has a Tshirt though.

Also if you end up going to walmart, make sure to tell them Target and Best Buy both have them advertised for $79.99. last I checked Wal Mart has it for $89.99 and so they should price match.

My set is being delivered to my office. I'm trying to keep myself extra busy so time passes by quickly. Too bad I don't have a blu-ray player at work.

Although I will admit I really dislike the nooo. I wonder if he added that in there to match the pain that Vader felt during his first Nooooooo once he learned of Padme's death?

I guess George wanted to bookend Anakin's life as Vader. He starts with a No and ends with a No. Personally I think Vader should have screamed-"Yippppeeeeeee"- as he threw Palpatine down the shaft...but what the hell do I know? That's why Luca$ makes the big bucks and I can't make ends meet.

One suggestion on another forum was that by adding Vader's "no, noooo" it takes the emphasis of the scene off of Vader's change being a byproduct of Luke's sacrifice and more a willful, convicted decision of Vader himself. Makes sense when you consider that George is constantly doing everything he can to diminish Luke as the hero and change the focus to Anakin/Vader.

Agree, they may look like ____, but they are my favorite versions.

They're the only ones I watch... I find that when the OT SEs are on TV that I'm distracted each and every time an altered scene comes on the screen. Every single modified portion stands out, and not in a good way, battle of Yavin scenes being one major exception...

I guess we have to come to terms with the fact that this is not done entirely for us but to hook future generations who haven't seen the original versions hundreds and hundreds of times each. :dunno

That is me exactly. When Spike ran these over Labor Day weekend, the SE stuff stuck out like a sore thumb. So much so that I can't even watch those now. I have the DVDs that came as "extras" from a few years back and they just don't look good enough for me. That's what prompted me to seek out better versions of the original theatrical versions.

For those of you who hate the past changes (and the new BD changes), believe me I get it. Let me just say, it could be a LOT worse. Sources well-positioned to know have told me that Lucas actually seriously considered replacing the puppet Yoda from The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi with the all-digital version, and even had tests conducted to see how it would look. Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed. (For the record, I'm told that the digital Yoda just didn't look right or mesh well with the real, physical, practical Dagobah sets. Shocking, I know.) In any case, the films are what they are - changes and all - and now they're finally available on Blu-ray.

He has said over the last several years at least SW is more the story of Anakin Skywalker than anyone else so that makes sense.

I knew he'd try!

And that is what upsets me! Vader is not a hero, he's selfish and evil and puts his own desires ahead of those he cares for... I could easily say that Luke is my favorite character, so taking the emphasis away from him and lumping it onto Vader ruins the overall story in my eyes. SW, as we knew it as children, was a story of a boy and his great coming of age adventure, and all the Joseph Campbell related messages that went along with it... Lucas then created the PT which should have been about a flawed character turning truly evil. Lucas instead made Vader sympathetic character, so that begs the question, why? Well, it's pretty obvious that this franchise, that we all hold so dearly, is no longer about the story, but about merchandise and keeping the cash cow as relevant as possible so future generations keep dumping their hard earned money into merchandise.

____ you, Lucas. Jerk face.

Who would be surprised by this? We know it's coming sooner or later.
