Sad when the fans have made better improvements to Lucas' movies than he has.

Just saw a photo of R2 behind the rocks and that change is just ludicrous!! I'm so glad I didn't buy these and I'm thinking I may not even if they get cheap enough. This change is just another slap in the face. I'll have to stick with my DVD versions since I've downloading the Harmy versions but I can't get them to unzip.

My 4 1/2 year old daughter is watching A New Hope again (It's like its for the first time now that she's older) and she is captivated. It's Adywan's Star Wars: Revisited, BTW.

Brings a tear to my eye.

You really hadn't heard yet? For the blu-ray they added some dumb CGI rocks in front of R2 when he's hiding from the sandpeople. Don't ask me how he was supposed to squeeze into the new hiding spot.

Plus when he leaves the alcove to approach Ben the new rocks mysteriously disappear.

Artoo has holographic projection capabilities. He simply put the rocks there ;)

Prepare for her wanting to watch it quite often. I know I did when I was little. At least once a week i'd put the betamax tape in to play it.

Saw this scene last night and had to :lol @ everybody _____ing about it. The cut to when he's approaching Ben is less than a second, which is the only time you see the rocks aren't there, and literally adds nor detracts nothing from the film itself. Congrats on discovering a whole new level of OCD! :wave

Nam didn't you hear? We now have our unaltered versions of the films and you get to have these new soon-to-be-obsolete-when-the-next-release-messes-them-up-even-further editions. So no need to be uppity in your support of split second half-assery. Let go of your hate. :grouphug :peace

There's no hate, it's just ridiculous that you guys would continually rant about something that you have to squint and look behind R2 for all of less than a second to even notice. I'll give you that there's a list of other stuff that should've been fixed, but to _____ about the rocks, methinks you're looking too hard for reasons to hate... :lol

You don't think its funny that they would take the time to add an arbitrary change like rocks, but then to neglect having them in the next frame.

Its just the whole half-assed nature of these revisions that gets me. I don't really care about some of the changes... but at least have some continuity :huh

They did the same thing with the escape pod hatch. They changed it from blue to grey in this release when 3PO and R2 are in the desert but during the "look sir droids" scene the hatch is blue again.

Yep. The worst example is the ESB:SE going back to 1997 (and still messed up to this day.) A lot of the new windows and elevators they added to Cloud City are there in one shot as the characters stand or walk in front of them and then are gone in the next.

Yeah, that always annoyed the ____ out of me. It is even more obvious in HD. I wonder when Lucas will decide to "upgrade" again? For 3D maybe?

:dunno
