I didn't find that CG as convincing as other people seemed to but I did think it was a good film.

Geez, AOTC is on SpikeHD right now and I switched to it as Obi-Wan was talking to Dexter in the diner. Then it goes to Obi-Wan talking to the old lady at the library, then Anakin and Padme talking about love on the refugee ship, then Yoda and those stupid younglings. That's got to be the worst series of scenes in the history of Star Wars.

A movie however, where I totally buy the CGI is Avatar - I buy the characters, the props, the environments completely, because care was made to actually make it look real and tangible, like real world objects and real environments.

I was talking about the CGI.

Though, I kinda liked it. Have seen worse. I would take any Cameron movie over most of the effects movies done today, even those of his that are somewhat silly and derivative.

I'm watching Phantom Menace blu ray as I type. Never have seen a blu ray before but now I completely understand the awesomeness of the technology.

When it first came out I thought AOTC was a decent movie but the more I watch it the more I realize that other than a couple parts (like the Kaminos) this movie really, really sucks. Hayden couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. It's at least on par with if not below TPM (which I had always considered the worst movie ever made) for me now.

Yeah, ATOC is really just a bad filler movie. A few interesting bits, but a lot of it is just weak.

Watched ROTJ BR for the 1st time last night,didn't notice anything except the god awful no (just plain not needed) wickets blinks are a nice touch

Agreed. AOTC has not aged that well. There are a few good scenes, but all of those scenes don't involve Anakin, which is odd since he's the star of the PT. That should tell you something.

I still love the Jango/Obi Wan space chase. The audio in that sequence shook my basement.

Frankly, I would love to see any actor attempt to "act" his way out of a giant paper bag. I don't even know what that would look like, but I bet it would be entertaining.

AOTC?! Too much disney colours in the West End Theater district of Coruscant, alltogether too much disney interpretation of a BladeRunner city of the future.

And Hayden really sucks, as an actor AND by his look, he's the worst cast choice in the whole PT - they did so well in choosing young beauty Portman, why give her such an goofy at her side?

I must say apart from Kamino and the clone troop scenes at the end, to me, there is nothing to really bother about.
