perhaps the writers are not in touch with their own inner youth. many of us fell in love with Star Wars at about the age of 8 to 12. the film certainly didn't pander to this age group... why stray from such a winning formula? having cameos / easter eggs / Mcquarrie vibes doesn't equal "Star Wars" as much as writing fun, adventurous, mysterious tales would... the Rebels team has been given entrance to one of the greatest sandboxes of all time yet they don't seem to really be having fun in it.

Just watched the Empire Day episode and thought it was good. Of course I'm always happiest when I see Empire / Sith so...
it was cool to see Palpatine on the News report and I hope they plan to introduce him at some point.

Also I know they probably won't but I really don't see how you do a show placed between ep III and IV and not have Vader anywhere...

That's why they have the inquisitor and Kallus. This is essentially ***** work for the empire. You don't send your heaviest hitter to go and mess up a bunch of **** disturbers.

Also they kinda lead to this in the alternate first episode where Vader gives the inquisitor his mission.

I'll admit that "Empire Day" was the best episode so far. I think its partially due to the fact its multi episode and therefore a more in depth story. The same went for The Clone Wars. The best stories in that series were the multi episode ones.

I'm really not digging the inquisitor though. Not yet at least. Not sure if its the writing or the voice acting or the whole look of him. He's just not very menacing. Kallus is pretty good though.

Speaking of the inquisitor, I swear I read somewhere (before the show began) that he wielded a lightsaber but was not sith and had no force powers. Obviously they changed it.

yeah was ok.. still.. not digging it.. Kan is a cool character I really like.. I HATE Aladdin .. canst stand that kid and it looks the whole series is aming him as the main character ...

Inquisitor .. im with you.. not menacing and dull somehow...

Like I've said, there was too much McQuarrie scraps being thrown to try to appease the older fans that there's no "soul" yet to the show. I'm still faithful they'll start to hit their stride by season 2 though.

I thought it was a good episode. The show's taking awhile to get going but I have faith it will. I actually like the Inquisitor a lot. The Only I issue I have with him his super lightsaber.

That second part of this two-parter was damn good.

Agreed, I really enjoyed it and for me it's def the best episode so far.
I dug the part when the Inquisitor is tempting Ezra, the lighting was awesome.

Also "my master will not be pleased" gives me high hopes that we'll see Palpatine or Vader at some point.

That's the only thing I didn't like about the episode. I don't know if it was Jason Isaacs delivery or just the writing but I didn't like it. I would of liked to have seen him lose his calm demeanor and just yell. That would of been cool.

No new episodes until January.

Loving this show btw way. I never did get into Clone Wars (should I?) but this has been a great intro to Star Wars for my son. Santa just brought him the Phantom Lego set to a family party. Now he wants the full Ghost set... :/

I just watched the last 2 episodes today. While I'm still not 100% into this I think there is definitely enough there to keep me watching.

I've watched all of Rebels but I am finding it difficult. I watch because it is Star Wars but the story lines have not drawn me in.

I hate when they hiatus shows after 7-8 eps right as you start getting into it.... it's like they want to help them fail.

It's not bad, but I'm getting bored with the good guys dealing with stupid imperials and stormtroopers. I hope the Inquisitor has a bigger role when they return and hopefully Vader makes an appearance here and there.

I agree. This should be the time this show starts hitting it's stride. I think we have a good idea about what the main characters are about already.

Have you tried watching it in chronological order? Release order is kind of all over the place which can make it frustrating to watch at times. Star Wars posted an official chronological order and I found it to be much more enjoyable that way.

Are the season sets in chronological order? I just started watching it on Netflix.

Little dude now has a Chopper Christmas ornament. If I could find the damn figure up here I'd be happy. Just grabbed a single carded Ezra. I had bought and stashed the Jedi Reveal set from Toys R US, but now I can grab him the Phantom w/Kannan from Target (held off since I didn't want to get double figures of Kannan, but I knew he'd want an Ezra and the only way I could find him was in the set). Already grabbed him The Inquisitor w/Tie.

New lightsaber coming soon for Ezra.
