The GG statue photos of inquisitor, Zeb, and Ezra on top of chopper look phenomenal. And not so badly priced

Ep S1E7 "Out of Darkness" thoughts:

Yay, finally an episode focusing on Hera and Sabine! Right? It was badly needed, and I've been looking forward to it for that reason. Sadly, I think it's one of the weaker entries in the series so far. Especially coming off of Rise of the Old Masters and Breaking Rank, which were both fantastic.
Now, I've enjoyed the series as a whole a lot. This was the first episode, though, where I felt like I got bored. The main issue with the episode is that next to nothing happens. There's just not a lot of plot here. There's a lot of valuable time spent on Zeb, Ezra and Chopper squabbling. I don't mind this dynamic like some people do. But, a little goes a long way. And when it's happening in an episode that's supposed to focus on two under-utilized characters, it's kind of annoying.
The saddest part is that neither Hera nor Sabine are really given a showcase here. We get a LITTLE background on Sabine, at least. But what we learn, and the fleeting tension between Sabine and Hera over secrets is both shallow and pretty boring. Even the main enemy of the episode is boring. Zeb gets to face off against Kallus. Kanan and Ezra get to face off against The Inquisitor. Sabine and Hera face off against some boring monsters afraid of the light. Thankfully there just happen to be, oh, twenty or so barrels of explosive material lying around the abandoned base.

So, the resolution ends up being a bit boring, too. I was really hoping to get to know more about these two characters, but there just doesn't seem to be much there, at least not what they've showed up. Hopefully they'll get more of a proper focus some day.

Just saw Breaking Rank episode and thought it was a fun and well paced episode. Looks like we could see Leonis and Kell down the road. I'm interested to see if Leonis finds out what happened to his sister. I'm also interested in what the Inquisitor wants with Ezra and other Force-sensitive kids? What will he do with them, kill hem or try to turn them to the dark side?

I'm enjoying the three stooges dynamic going on between Zeb, Ezra, and Chopper. Also speaking of Chopper, I love how much of a sarcastic **** he is, it's hilarious.

Yeah, some people seem to not like Chopper because he's not R2D2. But they describe Chopper as more like a cat (versus R2D2's loyal dog) and I enjoy that characterization.

saw the latest one (Ep6) .. I dont know.. the plots are super super thin... actually there are no plots.. the last two were bad (or just not for my age) .. there is no greater story..

I have to be honest I am kind of losing interest in this show. I have the last two on DVR but haven’t really wanted to watch them yet. The ones I have seen are ok but they just don’t keep my interest and I just can’t get Aladdin out of my head when I watch that kid (showing how bad I have paid attention I don’t even remember his name.) I really want to like this and I think the overall idea behind it is good but for some reason its just not working for me yet… and I am really bummed the Vader extra wasn’t on the regular episode I saw. This might be one of those shows I’ll have to do a marathon viewing when the season is over and see if that helps.

So far (the last I saw was out of darkness) I'm liking it ok but it's hasn't reached the awesomeness of Clone Wars. I think it still needs to find it's tone and story.

On the plus side I like the team. Ezra is a pretty good guy, a little cocky but unsure of himself at the same time, his growth should be very interesting. The rest of the team is well rounded if a bit cliche but mostly it works. The droid is great, it's nice to see a different type of droid for once. I like the Master and the Twilek pilot is possibly my favorite character.
I like the design. Never minded the cartoonish look of CLone Wars and this is similar just slightly tweaked.
The MUSIC! is great! There are movie cues all over the place it's awesome.
I love seeing TIE Fighters, we need more of those!

My biggest gripe on this show is the animations (particularly facial). It's like the animators got some new tools and more budget so they went crazy. At times it looks appropriate but most of the time the expressions are way too exaggerated like having crazing facial contortion just to say "oh..."
The writing at times seems a little sub-par. Particularly in last episode it was the opposite of subtle and "wave 1" "wave 2" like what??? is this a video game and you have a counter on the screen that I'm not seeing?

Anyway so far I'm not giving up, I'm enjoying it and I'll let it take me on the ride.

I have seen all episodes. I am not in love yet. Only time I get excited is when I see something Star Wars (i.e. Stormtroopers & Tie Fighters). Not 100% onboard with the crew yet.

To me this show is a test on how the new movies will be.....all new faces!!!

This show has gone for a younger viewer than Clone Wars and it's losing my interest. My kids love it. It has its moments where I get involved, but I'd like to see this go up just a bit in the age group bracket.

Agreed. You would think the time slot it's in would indicate that it's made really for older people, since what kid stays up that late, but I guess they're banking on DVR ratings and not live ratings.

This is just the first season though. Clone wars went through the exact same thing and it certsinly got more serious as it went.

I'm hoping they ditch ezras wrist slingshot soon. All the last few episodes have shown is how utterly useless it is. Who/whatever he shoots at just shrugs it off and goes back to whatever they're doing.

It seems nit-picky they do some really stupid 5#1+ with TIE Fighters. They land on their wings instead of suspended over the flight deck. They hover and fly slow in an atmosphere. They seem to chase the Ghost every five minutes (to the point where the crew sort of yawns at them outside taking shots).

Even though the episode that focused on Hera and Sabine wasn't great, the next one (officially airing on Monday) called Empire Day was REALLY good.

They need to tie this in with...something. :lol
With the time and title it should feel more prequel to the OT. I'm enjoying all the nods, but as is obvious by everyone's comments, the flash will only captivate for so long, substance needs to be introduced. Also, just re watched the 'final' Clone Wars mini season, woahhhh, I had forgotten all the improvements they had made to the art process for Clone Wars near the end; Rebels makes a huge step down in art comparatively.

Would love to see something connecting with the actual OT. Maybe a mission to an air field to 'liberate' some X-Wings for the rebel cause. Always wondered why these never popped up in the PT since they seemed to be older star fighters when ANH started. Anyways, I like pretty much the whole crew except Aladdi... I mean Ezra, so hopefully they can infuse some life into this. I know there were 'filler' eps. In Clone Wars, but was hoping for a tighter story on this.

i went back to watch a few of my favorite Clone Wars episodes as well... too bad that the momentum visually it hit was completely lost with Rebels.

This show wishes it were about Han SOlo, Chewie and the Falcon. The Ghost is very clearly Falcon-ish, but nobody on the crew has the charisma to make up to Han's absence.
