Being reported that Portman did film scenes for the ObiWan show but that it was never used.

In 1977, I thought the Jedi Order was a small elite group.
Now, as I understand it, any idiot can be one. They have Younglings. Broom Boys.
But there's only "The One" with the power... OK, TWO... Two with the power. Three if you count Kylo. So, Anakin, Luke, Rey... and Kylo. Wait, that's four. OK, four...
That's a great comparison.Star Wars is like the Western.

Yup, I too remember (if only vaguely) a time when Jedi and lightsabers still felt like something exclusive and interesting. I do believe Ahsoka's appearance in The Mandalorian S2 was handled very well though...I always thought of the Jedi as an allegory to the philosophers of Plato's Republic. The Jedi were very high-functioning, exceptional beings in terms of their capacity for metaphysical knowledge and wisdom, but as a result of that came the ability to harness the force (and all of its mythical gifts).
In comparison, there's nothing exceptional about Rey, since she was just written as the greatest Jedi who ever lived without the wisdom to show for it. Same for Kylo, and he was just an angry edge-lord. There's just no rhyme or reason to why some of these characters could even harness the force to begin with.
I didn't care at the time. I was just thrilled to get my own Star Wars figures since all that was left of my older brothers' vintage collection was a yellow Stormtrooper and a Weequay with his hand chewed off.Gawd, those '95 figures were horrible. I have them all.
Unrelated, these have been popping up in my youtube feed lately.
No need to apologize, it's not mine and I posted it without comment. That was kinda cringe, sorry.
Yep. I am seeing this in my YouTube feed too: Leia talks to Anakin, Sidious talks to Revan, Kylo talks to Anakin, Vader talks to Padme… all of it the soppiest fanwank you will ever be exposed to…. And as such they’re hilarious to watch. That was kinda cringe, sorry.
I was collecting at the time and just kept with the vintage figures as they looked normal. When I saw these in the shops I wondered why on earth they had gone for such a muscular look! I don't think I ever bought a single one of POTF 2 line.
