didn't make me wanna buy anything from it, which is a nice change :D

This isn't reassuring. Seems like it's got quite it's share of problems. I personally think, anything short of the 2nd coming, is a fail when this has been built up so high and drooled over for years. Pretty good, isn't good enough.

I'm intrigued....is it TOO much of a mirror to ANH to be a great film??? I'm not happy if it's a greatest hits package. The way for Disney and JJ to play it safe would be to do a ton of riffs from ANH over again. My oh my...

My Girlfriend asked if I wanted to sell our tickets the other night :lol

You should've.

Completely unrelated to the his specific film, but:

What's the best way to watch the entire SW saga? Chronologically?

My father in law wants to do a marathon and I really don remember the films all that well, specially the "newest ones"

We'd like to do that before seeing TFA.

Thanks in advance.

All the trailers just look like ANH redux, so I wouldn't say you're far from the truth. I assume in a month or so after it officially comes out, hype will die and people will pick it apart and destroy it.

I'd say in order of release.

Just got out.

Its ANH 2.0 with parts of ESB.
Too much for my taste.
Its well done tho. The fx, practical and cgi are great.
FINN and REY are sweet funny and sometimes badasses.
The backstory they hint to is far more interesting than What we get to see.
Adam driver haircut does a great job to hide how fugly he is, seeing him acting like a brat with his light sabre was so funny.
Its Perfect to start a new generation of fanboys and the former fanboys Will love it as its fan service to the maxxxxxxxxx
Oh and Poe dameron who?

It is starting to sound a lot like all Disney did was do a remake of the first one disguised as a reboot disguised as a sequel...

dunno how this thread has played out w/ spoilers and there really aren't any IMO (at-least nothing that has been said already) inside this box, but I'll still include it just incase.

to me the story played out very much like ANH. the form of it constantly reminded me of the first film.
and it wasn't exactly rocket-science to form an idea of the plot based on the trailers. I've been going to the movies lately so there was no avoiding them...
the Luke thing was especially easy to filter-out in advance from the general reportage. captain phasma was useless and I think there would've been a good chance for a ESB type cliffhanger ending, but they didn't use it.

I was thinking the exact same thing that it'll be massacred in a few months or so.
but maybe the boots were just too big? the build-up to the release... but had it been anything, I think it wouldn't have nailed it?

somehow to me it didn't connect all that well even with the old characters in (or maybe because of it, dunno?).
I think there's too much sorta setting-up the story (trilogy to come) and references/homages to the old movies are just all-over the place all the time (but I guess that's sorta inevitable?).

one thing that bothered me, was the similarity of the character types/roles to ANH.
maincast was kinda too young and sometimes acted very childishly. but I guess that's all disney?

it isn't bad, but I think I liked Abrams Star Trek(s) more.
might of been better if it would've just honestly tried to stand on it's own? without seemingly having nothing to do with the old movies...

dunno. still better than the prequels.
and I'm pretty sure it's enough to get a new generation hooked?

Its exactly that.
Finn journeys the most interresting seeing where he comes from, but his payoff is lame.
Also im flabergasted that two kisses that must happen, wich are justified, never happen.
Solo just hugs leia and yu KNOW that he us going to die. Finn in coma gets a kiss on the forehead from Rey after all the look and hugs they have. Come on!!!
Phasma has no moments, she could have one but instead it is given to a no name stormtrooper who start screaming traitor to Finn then duel him with his électric bâton WTF it should have been phasma vs Finn.
Kylo vs han is moving but the way its set, they are on cat Walk over a large pit, yu see the end coming a mile away, dialogues too... Father... Come on...
Luke cameo is kinda embarrassing, the way its shot, the way luke acts, its weird...
The final shot aka Tony Scott is useless instead of staying on the émotion of the moment with a close up shot of the two actors we fly around them.

A cute robot carries a capital info.
It end up on a sand planet where he meets a young girl aspiring to a life of adventure.
They are joined by a deserter who only wants to escape and save his skin away from the fighting.
All are hunted by the empire.
They meet an old veteran who has left behind the resistance after a betrayal.
A Jedi apprentice, who became Sith is manipulated by a disfigured mentor (who is an hologram) and track down his past allies.
Our friends encounter an Old and wrinkled creature that explains the way of the force and the path to follow.
Boom bada boom fights.
The heroes end up with the resistance, the young girl is captured, the reluctant heroes joins the fight.
The résistance carry out a raid against a space station weapon capable of destroying several planets at once.
The captured heroine is going to be saved by a crazy saviors team without a plans.
The old veteran is faced to the masked bd guy, his son who betrayed him, above a precipice, one of them falls ...
Resistance destroys the base.
Our heroine fights the bad guy, cut his hand and scare his face before having to run away.
The reluctant hero is wounded, in a coma hes gonna stay behind to recover.
The young adventurer goes to meet an old Jedi Master to complete her training.

Stupid.

And there it is. Bridge Face confirmed. :lol

Han is killed on a catwalk and I'm sure the look on his face when he's gutted is what was being referenced. He is all happy his son is asking for help and he goes in for a hug when BOOM. Dead.

Han should have died flying the Falcon and should have known he was going to his death. He should have died a hero. Not like a chump betrayed by his bratty son.

Read the spoilers since IDGAF. What a fail. Hell it's probably really entertaining, but I'll pass. I'm sure this will be eaten up by everyone who just don't care, since they're so scarred from the prequels.
