There is some concept art that could be very very interesting in regards to Luke and possibly Rey..... It is up to interpretation.... but to me it seems that

Luke is holding the lightsaber in his Bespin outfit, as if he found it at Maz Kanata's. A women with long hair walking threw an arch way staring at Luke with BB-8 next to Luke. On the right is Maz and on the left is a man reaching for his blaster. I mean, the face is shadowed and all, but the hair looks like Luke, the outfit resembles the Bespin outfit.

I apologize in advance for the huge picture, which is below.

Is that Luke there? If so is that his wife in the archway? Or is Rey? What is BB-8 doing there if it is Luke? Of course it could all mean nothing, but it is interesting.

That's from Rey's vision.
It starts by transporting her into the corridors of Cloud City. The difference is we don't actually see Luke. We do hear him scream Noooo! however.

Good thing Han only saved the galaxy 3 freaking times, lets not give him a proper ceremony to end the movie with some form of acknowledgement of his accomplishments.

Horrible death, didn't even go out fighting.

Then the 10 seconds devoted to his death looked like people experiencing gas discomfort.

Not even Luke cared.

Dumb ass movie.

Saw this today, I can say today is the day I officially became a fan of Star Wars! lol I don't care very much for the other films but this film was awesome, I laughed, I was sad, I was surprised, I was thrilled. I can see why some things in this film would make some of the original trilogy fans upset but nothing bothered me. Has anyone else talked about

Kylo Rens real name being Ben? The way it was introduced made me feel like he was named after Obi Wan Kanobi. It would make sense that Leia would name her son after the man that saved her from Darth Vader. I heard the new series would be about the offspring of Luke and Leia but I didn't think they would be at war with each other, this could prove to be quite the dramatic back bone to this series.

I loved the movie, I will be seeing it again and will own this on Blu Ray.

You can't call a movie dumb because you didn't get what you wanted. As far as Hans death. You wouldn't be willing to risk your life to try to save or redeem your son? That is what Han did. He was willing to sacrifice his well being for the sakes of his son. A honorable death. I don't know how you know Luke didn't care. He was staring out into the vast ocean. He could have been reflecting and dealing with Hans death. Chewbacca sat sad and hunched over at the base as did Leia. Rey cried, Finn was shocked. Unless you wanted the whole movie to be about his funeral... I am not sure what you expected. Might have been a bit rushed, but it worked very well.

He went out vulnerable, trying to save his son. That's what I enjoyed about it.

Ah, you are right. Thanks for clarifying, didn't really dawn on me until you mentioned it.

Sorry jy, but I think you are dead wrong. Hans death was powerful. It just didn't meet your expectations. For example, your expectation of Han killing his son if he didn't go back to the light is so bizarrely "out there" that it is no surprise you reacted to this movie the way you have.

Equation: movie must = jye expectation or movie sucks.

I went in with low to no expectations and I think my experience was rewarded for it.

Watched it last night with my kids and, well, there's no need for anyone to talk about remaking the OT ever, because it's this. TFA is ANH.
Some roles were changed, others were expanded, but this is a remake.

Having said that...

I liked the movie a lot, it was fun and had some great action sequences, as well as some very touching moments.
Rey was a great character and the actress really delivered. Both Poe and Finn were a bit goofy, especially Finn. What a failure of First Order training that was...
Kylo Ren is another very interesting character and, again, the actor really delivered. Those two were the shining moments throughout the movie. Kylo is quite the bitchy, whiny kid. I guess a lot of people will dislike him for that, but it worked for me.
I thought the Carrie Fisher was awful. I wonder how much botox was pumped into her face that prevented her from emoting anything. Not that she ever was a good actress to begin with.
Han was wasted, I think. While not quite the bumbling comedy relief that he was in ROTJ, he still was far from the legendary bounty hunter and hero of the rebellion. I understand that he was playing the sad old man, but it didn't have to be so helpless.
And I think Chewie was completely misguided. It never really felt like Chewie. It left like someone who didn't know the character too well playing Chewie.

Which brings me to my overall sensation that, while a very entertaining and well made movie, this isn't really Star Wars. There's something about the tone, the feeling of the movie that isn't quite right.

Still, as I said, I enjoyed it a lot, and will probably go and watch again in the theatre.

Oh, and Phasma was a complete anti-climax.
If they were going for Boba Fett-cool, they completely missed the mark. Total waste.

Expectations about things that should happen and the way they should happen certainly comes into it. But no one will tell me that things like the acting and character interactions in TFA didn't piss on the PT from a great height. Most in the PT are so damn stiff it isn't funny. The originals and TFA are objectively superior on many counts, in ways that have nothing to do with nostalgia.

Now, I'm in a strange position of vehemently disagreeing with WWEjedi about the PT and yet, at least for now, agreeing with him about TFA. It just goes to show how Star Wars fandom is going to become ever more varied the more films are made. There'll be all manner of splits within factions and so on.

They can't have any of the old OT characters like chewing stealing thunder of the new upcoming characters since they are trying to invest in new characters.

The PT doesn't get a pass on its bad storytelling just because Jy is crying :lol

What I mean is that Jye didn't get what he expected and doesn't like TFA. Now he is over criticizing every aspect of TFA from the story to the acting. The same can be said about the first movie of the PT, TPM. Lets say Jye didn't get what he expected from TPM. I mean, look what Khev expected from TPM in that picture he posted. So, now Jye over-criticizes every aspect of TPM because it didn't live up to expectations.

If anything, I think Jye will hate the ST because of how TFA sets up the next two. The same way TPM set up AOTC and ROTS.

Does that make sense?

It will be civil war without end.

That is why many hate the PT. They expected something and didn't get it. Same is true about this movie with some.
But that's not true, the PT was beyond praised when it came out, surpassing everyone's expectations.

It was only years after people started THINKING about it that they figured out it sucks, expectations had nothing to do with it.
