If my son turned to the dark side and started wiping out entire towns, villages and FREAKING ENTIRE PLANETS, NO, I wouldn't go and have a soft caring and loving conversation with him on a bridge trying to bring him home to his mother.

He's a freaking murderer of adults and children!

No, I would be the first to put a bullet in his head from a sniper rifle because of his damn demonic powers will kill me as soon as I got close to him.

Yeah no, my expectations is not what made this movie dumb.

Beautiful lightsaber fight at the end but shame I don't give a crap about any of the new stuff no matter how much better it is than the PT because of how they dropped the ball with the core elements that needed to be handled correctly for everything else to matter.

Luke saving his father had a huge impact on the war, and Vader paid for his sins.

What was saving KR going to do, nothing. The FO was already going down like the outter rim bitches that they were.

Poe the Hoe didn't even need any help, he did it all on his own once Chewie blew some **** up.

But that's not true, the PT was beyond praised when it came out, surpassing everyone's expectations.

It was only years after people started THINKING about it that they figured out it sucks, expectations had nothing to do with it.

Really? I immediately loathed almost every aspect of the PT, from start to finish. My expectations did come into it - I expected Lucas to not serve up dross, and yet there it was.

With TFA I expected the serviceable, not great, treatment Abrams is known for, and got it.

This is the kind of parent the new generations needs :lol :clap

Yes, it's very well documented.

Even Roger Ebert liked TPM.

Expectations about things that should happen and the way they should happen certainly comes into it. But no one will tell me that things like the acting and character interactions in TFA didn't piss on the PT from a great height. Most in the PT are so damn stiff it isn't funny. The originals and TFA are objectively superior on many counts, in ways that have nothing to do with nostalgia.

Now, I'm in a strange position of vehemently disagreeing with WWEjedi about the PT and yet, at least for now, agreeing with him about TFA. It just goes to show how Star Wars fandom is going to become ever more varied the more films are made. There'll be all manner of splits within factions and so on.

:lol That makes Star Wars unique! :lol

It will be civil war without end.

At least it seems I have a few more on my side for a change :lol (in regards to TFA)

It makes sense, I was just breaking balls :)

:lol

You fault Han for trying to save Kylo after all the bad he did. But don't fault Luke for trying to save Vader after all the bad Vader did! SERIOUSLY? Ren and Vader BOTH killed fellow Jedi and blew up a planet. So please, explain your reasoning. Unless you would save your parents over your son.

The OT nostalgia is stronger than I thought it was.

Tis a good film :lecture :lol He gave AOTC 2 out 4 and ROTS 3 1/2 out of 4 if I remember correctly.

If Vader was redeemable (he shouldn't have been, not if it were real life) then so must Ren be.

And if you think about it the Empire was going to be defeated at Endor regardless of Vader returning to the side of light. Han knocked out the shield generator and Lando and Wedge got into the superstructure as planned. What else was going to happen to prevent them from succeeding that Vader or the Emperor could have affected at that point.

Well he did write a book called "The Pot and How to Use It". I'm guessing he'd been using it pretty hard when he reviewed those flicks.
:lol many have come to that conclusion.

No it's not, it's one of those movies that comes the closest to being an objectively bad movie, the only way it could be good is in an alternate society where stupidity is considered a virtue.

And I love TPM, but it has deep structural flaws that are rooted in logic itself, literally plot breaking brain farts and not one, it has a handful.

I like all the concepts presented in the movie, I don't think I even dislike Gungans or JarJar too much, but the pieces where put together by butt :lol

I hate Red Letter Media, I do, they're douchebags, but they nailed their review of TPM.

Yeah, was that in the film? I watched it twice and can't remember :lol To caught up in the scene I guess :lol

If it was included I love this film even more.

Technically Vader redeemed himself.

If he didn't, the Emp would've killed Luke or Luke and the weakened Vader and he would've escaped before the boom and no Luke = no TFA. :lol

Someone is really angry they killed off his favorite space pirate.......

Although I agree to a degree.....I found a missed opportunity ....Chewie walk RIGHT PAST Leia. Not a hug or anything. Chewie's mourning was truncated as well. Aside from his destructive rage or course.

We may see the tribute next film. A death that big has to be reverberating in the next films.....

Saw it again today, and think I had more fun with it this time, than the first.......Rey is awesome. Finn is great. BB-8 stole the show (almost) and Ford gave us a great final adventure as solo.......I do have some quibbles with the movie, sure. But what's good is really good...

Good thing Han only saved the galaxy 3 freaking times, lets not give him a proper ceremony to end the movie with some form of acknowledgement of his accomplishments.

Horrible death, didn't even go out fighting.

Then the 10 seconds devoted to his death looked like people experiencing gas discomfort.

Not even Luke cared.

Dumb ass movie.

Luke didn't seem particularly upbeat in that final shot.....
