He got stabbed, fell down a deep hole, then the planet exploded. I don't see a way out. :dunno

He fell into a vat of carbonite, which sealed his wound and shielded him from the exploding planet, the force of which propelled him into space where he was picked up by a transporter and taken to a distant and as yet unnamed planet.

Rey is Kylos younger sister. Luke took her and hid her from Kylo on Jaaku under the watch of a guardian (max von sydow) who was an old teacher at his Jedi school (hence Kylo saying you have gotten old) Rey was supposed to be revealed as Kylos sister in this one but Disney changed it and kept the reveal for episode 8, the speaking toys still have some of the Kylo Rey dialogue that was cut from the movie.

The Knights of Ren were a group of bad eggs at the Jedi school who became focused on the sith and trying to raise them (as Vader had believed they could cheat death) they were like kids playing with a Ouija, they raised Snoke from sith artefacts (he may or may not be plaugis the wise) He corrupted Kylo who then killed many Jedi students and became known as Jedi killer. Rey was hidden on Jaaku, as his sister she would be in danger (she was seen in flashback being brought there as well as hearing sydow and seeing the Knights killing Jedi) r2 was left as a link to finding Luke should the **** ever hit the fan along with the second piece of the map with sydow on Jaaku. The shot with Luke and r2 seen in the trailer is when he gave him the map and left him in charge.

Although I agree to a degree.....I found a missed opportunity ....Chewie walk RIGHT PAST Leia. Not a hug or anything. Chewie's mourning was truncated as well. Aside from his destructive rage or course.

Yeah... wtf was that ********? Chewie should have gone straight to her.

Instead her and Rey (someone she just met) embrace. Guess they read each other's mind with the force.

OK but...
what about han and leia not acknowledging Rey?

The Genesis planet. Yep. I see no problem with any of this. Lets call it nuking the carbonite.

Someone is really angry they killed off his favorite space pirate.......

We may see the tribute next film. A death that big has to be reverberating in the next films.....

Nah, I was aware that Han had to die and the box office torch had to be passed on to the new kids, HF wouldn't even do the movie unless he was killed.

I'm just slightly ticked off on how it was done. :lol

But you raise a great point, Leia didn't even give Chewie a hug did she?

Ughhh, this movie truly blows chunk.

I think Han realised. Not at first. Maz says "who is that girl?"to solo and the shot cuts. If Han and Leia knew where she was Ren would know also. It's more echoing of the OT.

Umm, wouldn't Han and Leia know if they had a daughter?

If Vader was redeemable (he shouldn't have been, not if it were real life)

But this isn't real life, it's a space fairytale, that's the point.

IAnd if you think about it the Empire was going to be defeated at Endor regardless of Vader returning to the side of light.

But if the Emperor survived and escaped the Empire would have rebuilt, again, and would still be a force. Instead it sank into division and disarray.

Saw Episode VII today with the comic book club I sponsor and we had a blast! :yess:

I loved seeing the little nods to the OT and seeing Han, Chewie and Leia on the big screen again was awesome.

Rey, Finn and BB-8 were great! :rock

Chewie appears to show 100 times more sadness in ESB when Han was left out in the cold in Hoth. That's why I believe it was a secondary plan between Han, Leia and Chewie. Han is alive!

So you agree with me on point one (because that's what I was intimating in my response to Jye*) but you disagree on point 2.

*jye was saying that Han should have shot Ren dead on the spot given his crimes. He should have made no attempt to persuade him home. I responded that yes, in reality maybe, but not in Star Wars if you also accept that Luke wanted to try to persuade Vader back to the good side rather than killing him.

Huge difference between Vader's redemption and had Kyle successfully been "brought home".

Vader redeemed = dead Emporer.
Kylo brought home doesn't affect Snoke, he continues living.

Seen it twice now, and it falls right in the middle for me.

1. STAR WARS ( that's what it was called when I saw it in '77, and that's what I'll always think of it as)
2. THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK
3. REVENGE OF THE SITH
4. THE FORCE AWAKENS
5. RETURN OF THE JEDI
6. ATTACK OF THE CLONES
7. THE PHANTOM MENACE

Flame me all you want, but JEDI and PHANTOM MENACE were the only episodes in the series where I left the theater feeling disappointed.

As for my opinion of the new film, I find it to be good but not great. Too many coincidences in a plot that was too similar to what has come before. Like TPM, time will not be kind to this, I fear.

Yeah but Luke didn't want to bring his father back to the good side only as a means to kill the Emperor - if that were his intention that unmasking scene could have gone a whole lot different and I don't think Luke would have grieved at all. He would have said ''Alright, now that I've seen your face I've satisfied my curiosity about what you look like under the mask, now you can go and die you murdering bastard. I'm off.''

Likewise in TFA Han obviously still loves his son. He doesn't want to kill him and using him to assist in the defeat of the First Order isn't necessarily even on his mind at all.

I'm just trying to show why Han wasn't going to walk up and pop Kylo in the head anymore than Luke was going to run Vader through at the first chance he got.

At least we know why they only showed Phasma walking in all the trailers, that's all she did. :lol

I liked TFA, but Phasma, her front-and-center marketing, and subsequent joke of a presence in the final product pissed me off.

ok, since this is inevitable, here is my list of fav to least:

ANH, ESB, TFA-ROTJ (tie), Revenge of the Sith, Attack of the Clones .................................................................................................................................lastly, The Phantom Menace (a terrible film overall).

Snoke, to me, was fine. Voice work on him was great and his look seems about what I would have expected.....
