Because he knows Rey is the real threat. Which he's right about - he defeats Finn, no problem.

Wait, maybe a little problem...I think Finn gets a little stabby stab in. But he's so mad and EMO...he's got the feels running high!

That's my issue though, if he really feels Rey is a threat, then why is he toying with Finn while she's knocked out? The entire final battle just really didn't work for me.

I knew you were good peeps. :duff

Believe me, I'm not in here to try and ruin the movie for everyone, I'm just looking for some halfway decent answers for some of the problems I had with the movie so that I can enjoy it more.

My guess, they might explain it in episode 8 that she had some previous Jedi training we didn't know about.

Oh right, I completely forgot he did use the force against Finn, which completely destroys my efforts of defending that scene :lol

Yeah it's pretty retarded :lol

Yea, he does it like nothing, it's the reason Rey is knocked out for the entire Finn fight to begin with, and she's the strong one :lol

From a certain point of view. Nothing new in SW lore.....Luke with 30 secs of training with a remote ball and multiple yoga sessions with Yoda is able to spare quite well with the greatest Jedi ever in Bespin. In the final film with no additional training ultimately defeat him. Some of us can suspend belief more than one time :)

It's been a while since I watched the originals, but isn't it implied that after Empire he trains with Yoda to become stronger, I don't remember if they showed the training but it's at least an explanation to me. Training under arguably the strongest Jedi ever, no matter how long it is, is a better explanation than just waking up beating a trained force user.

When people, including a non fully trained jedi, are worked up, fired up, angry, their adrenaline is pumping, they introduce bad decisions into their actions.

Snoke SAID at the end that Kylo still needed training.

The film was trying to show Kylo fighting with all his pride and cockiness on his sleeves, he was going to make mistakes.

I cannot wait to hear the complaining or explanations for BvS fight ...Based on the logic here Supes is by far superior then Bats so that battle should end in 10 secs. Somehow Bats intellect will be a worthy to an opponent who is superior physically and quite capable intellectually. Good lord people their fictional stories. :)

Well, I feel like the the latest trailer does a better job at explaining that than TFA does at trying to explain Rey's super strength.

Nah. FF and all related commentary will be remembered appropriately.

Fell asleep? It the same movie as TFA. [emoji38]
I actually don't think this, at all. Besides the base at the end these funds couldn't feel anymore different to me. I too fall asleep watching the old films but I freaking love this movie. Part of it is how old they are, they can't be as visually exciting as this new film is, and to me that makes a big difference.

It just seemed to me that the Force was stronger with Rey than it was with Kylo. Kinda like at the end of the Matrix when Neo "gets it" and blocks every one of Smith's punches. Smith is far more trained, but Neo is just more special.

I think that part of the reason Kylo is more susceptible to the Dark Side is because he's just not that strong. I just got the impression that he REEEEEALLY wants to be like his grandpa and is trying really hard to be a bad guy, when he doesn't really have it in him, like a hipster Sith. It seems like he manipulates the Force around him, but he doesn't join with it. We saw Rey let go and feel the Force and that's why she was able to hold her own. The fact that his lightsaber is all jacked up is evidence that he doesn't really get it.

The only part I thought was a bit unbelievable was that they built a bigger, badder Death Star. I'd have imagined the remnants of the Empire would be a bit more inventive than to go down that well a third time.

:wave

The *******s that run the 4chan subreddit tagged all their posts with 'Kylo Kills Han'. So even if you filtered all posts from r/movies and r/starwars, the front page had posts tagged with that. It just blows because they posted crap to get their spoilers to the front page, it's rather ****ed that the reddit admins didn't remove it. Their **** hardly ever makes the front page anyways, so it's just kinda ****ed they gamed the system to spoil people. I immediately scrolled past it, but kept seeing it over the next day or two, so because it stayed up, I thought it was just them having a gag, like a fake spoiler, and plus, reading "Kylo Kills Han", makes no sense, it just seemed random. . . . then watching the movie, when Snoke reveals Han is Kylo's dad, I was like "**** me", but considering the tradition of sons killing fathers in Star Wars, it's hard to know if I wouldn't have just assumed Han's fate anyways, seeing as how their confrontation was inevitable.

Shoot. Sorry to hear that. For whatever it's worth Han's death was something I was more than halfway anticipating due to my knowledge of Ford wanting his character to die all the way back in ROTJ. Then there was all the foreshadowing of Rey being a natural with the Falcon and so on. The biggest surprises for me were that Kylo was Han's son and that it would be Rey, not Finn as the trailers suggested, who would have the final showdown with Kylo. And it sounds like those were unspoiled for you.

That's just an excuse, Luke didn't do anything after training 30 seconds with a ball, and he had hard as **** training under Yoda, etc etc.

That is is no way comparable to this.

When people, including a non fully trained jedi, are worked up, fired up, angry, their adrenaline is pumping, they introduce bad decisions into their actions.

Snoke SAID at the end that Kylo still needed training.

He had some training left, vs the girl who has no training at all, not to mention he is also a Skywalker. Nah.

Maybe the character is supposed to be a **** up, in that case they're doing a great job, I don't mean this ironically, because he's not and never will be an imposing/fearsome villain.

The apology of "it's all fiction, it's allowed to not make sense" is no good, everything has its own internal logic.

If done right, as long as Supes keeps holding back, trying to reason with Batman, Batman has kryptonite or something like that, then it should be fine. If Batman starts flying and beats down Superman with haymakers and heat vision, then by all means, all complaints are rightfully earned.

Well, I feel like the the latest trailer does a better job at explaining that than TFA does at trying to explain Rey's super strength.

Superman's could punch Batman multiple times before Bats could think how to defend himself.... fight over..it .won't happen that way.

Rey recalls Maz saying close your eyes feel the force around you etc. That's why the dramatic pause when Rey closes her eyes, she is reaching out to the force

Both work for the sake of the story

People are acting as if Rey brought down a Star Destroyer from space and dropped it ontop of Kylo.

She held her ground after letting Yoda into her Zen.

Yes Kylo is also a SW but it was also made very clear that he's a confused SW who is still affected by the pull of the lightside.

Look what happened to the mighty Vader when he started letting the light in, he got his ass whooped!
