Midichlorian blood work need not apply in TFA.

No, but it's still canon. All of it.

That's bull**** even by OT standarts.
The Force is just an energy field - it's not alive nor sentient.

Qui-Gon would beg to differ.

That's an amazing observation. It does fit with everything that's being talked about and the general concerns of this particular generation.

Frightening how culture seeps into movies...even when those movies are made by the older generation that should know better.

Someone needs to write their thesis on this topic. Kylo also reflects the millennials.

Why is it frightening?

Saw the movie this weekend. It was good but nothing earth shattering. As it's been well criticized, it felt like A New Hope 2015. They want to make one of these movies every other year and I can just see this series heading the way of the Fast and Furious franchise, especially with the upcoming directors. I enjoyed it but don't see what all the hype is about.

People are happy it's actually an enjoyable movie. After the prequels it feels good to get something that doesn't induce cringes at parts.

I saw this over the weekend. Although I enjoyed it and thought it was really good I do have to pick a couple things apart. I really enjoyed the introduction of Kylo Ren. I think he was a bad ass. Not only did he deflect blaster "shots?" but he stopped one in mid air. So how is it that Finn, a person who has never used a saber before was not totally obliterated within a second of meeting Kylo Ren? I mean he even wounded him.

The same could be said for Ren meeting Rey. No way no how do I believe that someone as experienced as Ren in the dark force could be beaten by someone who hasn't been trained as a jedi.

I was real disappointed in Han Solos death. Not so much that he died but come on, let him die doing something heroic. Yes I know he was trying to save his son but he went out like a *****.

Lastly the introduction of Luke. I'm going to play director here. I was really hoping during the fight between Rey and Ren that Ren would slowly beging to overwhelm Rey. Sure let her hold her own for awhile. In the end though she is untrained and Rey is not. As Rey is getting ready to give Ren a death blow have Luke show up and block it and go on to kick Reys ass. Sure let him get away but not before being embarrassed by Luke.

Even with the complaints I wrote I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and will see it again in 2D.

Feels good because you are just re-watching ANH. At least the prequels tried something different. TFA is the Nickleback of Star Wars movies. :lecture

Yeah Phantom Menace dared to be different. A battle at the beggining, rescuing a royal damsel in distress, a Force sensitive kid on Tatooine, visiting a hive of scum and villainy and then concluding with an attack on a space station that was destroyed by torpoedoes from a one man fighter. Oh yeah, the mentor Jedi gets killed by a Sith in front of his apprentice. George really stretched himself with that one. :)

GL even said that the pod race was the new trench run. :lol

About to sit down with it again. Waiting in the theater watching the AWFUL previews.

I will take TFA over the rest of this crap any day. We get so few decent sci do epics.....never mind a good Star Wars movie.

I was so happy to hear my wife say she would like to see it again....and the kids jumped right in and said they wanted to see it again also.

It's amazing what garbage passes for entertainment these days.....(I am sure someone will quote me on that about TFA) but the truth is it's a good film , lots of fun!

BTW it's Tuesday at 1:00 and the theater is packed..........Avatar is never going to survive this.

Good job Disney!

Seriously, that Zootopia trailer is one of the most excruciating I've had to sit through, to say nothing of the seemingly five minute long trailers for Kung Fu Panda 3, Star Trek, and Warcraft. Star Wars is one of the rare franchises where I just want to *get to the movie* and it's a double whammy when the previews that you don't want to watch in the first place all suck. :lol

Even BvS, Apocalypse, and Civil War are all snoozers at this point.

The ONE halfway entertaining preview (Deadpool) of course has to be the one that's like 30 seconds long.

Yes they were playing it too safe. I feel VIII will take more risks. And, piss more people off in the process... :D

How do you know he was never trained with a saber? It seems to have been established in the movie that Stormies do get a comprehensive weapons training; including saber training. Also, Finn probably only fared as well as he did against Ren because Ren was wounded by a blast from Chewbacca's bowcaster.
