Come on jye, those of us who appreciated TFA have The Witch, those who did not have Deadpool. Stay with us man, don't strip naked and head off to join the crazy DP fans in the woods now. :lecture

:lol :lol :lol

No can do. :lol

I'm with DiFabio and a-dev on this one.

I, like many, continously devour the OT/PT soundtracks (yes, I said PT).

I have no clue about any of the tracks in TFA other than Rey's theme.

I'm unable to attach music to movie with TFA but I can instantly do that with the OT/PT score.

Disrobe I must, trust in Black Phillip I will. :lol

If someone wants to say "TPM or AOTC music is better than TFA music" or AOTC acting or dialogue is better than whatever then more power to them. It's the internet. Of course someone somewhere will say something crappy is better than something awesome and they'll always have a platform to make their opinion heard. The prequel music wasn't that great, it wasn't that "Star Wars-ey" and I never really got any sense that Williams ever took pride in any of his prequel scores. His heart clearly wasn't into it, almost as if he saw the crappy images on screen that he was supposed to compose for and just kind of went through the motions.

But he was definitely into TFA and it showed as we now have another great score that is worthy of the OT (and his first SW score to be nominated for an Academy Award since ROTJ.) Will some people scoff at that notion? Sure. "Some people" will also sign a petition saying that George Lucas should still be directing SW films. Because, you know, internet.

I knew we should have sold you to that other family when we had the chance. :lol ;)

"Into it" as much as an 84 year old can I suppose. :lol

More likely a case of "been there, done that".

Hey man, you get to prefer AOTC's music over Academy Award nominated alternatives. More power to you. :duff

I think I'll just go ahead and trust the enthusiasm of an 84 year old genius over a prequel lover's assumptions because, you know, that's how I roll. :)

You know you got em' when they continue to edit their posts with little digs. :lol :yess:

If any of these opinions matter (they don't), well I guess Hateful 8's soundtrack is the best of 2015. The Oscars confirmed it! :lecture

Just twetted this out....

No commentary on #starwars #TheForceAwakens blu ray I had a feeling with #JJAbrams at the helm. One time I miss George Lucas

In all seriousness, that's one reason why I can't even listen to the PT scores anymore. They instantly take me back to a time where I was embarassed by Star Wars. They should come with "trigger warnings" now. :lol

Can you imagine cruising downtown and pulling up to intersections with your windows down while you blast "Across the Stars" over your car's speakers? Do it, I dare you. :lol

I'd rather see his thoughts on Awakens instead.
Who cares. He's been thwarted and one-upped. No, he's been ten-upped by the people he turned his company over to. So he'd either be blowing smoke or it would be 2 hours of nonsensical bootyhurt ramblings. I'm not interested in hearing either, especially after that crazy Charlie Rose interview.

Back to the TFA score... I'll point out that the music & John Williams enthusiasts over at JWFan.net almost unanimously love this score, and consider it his best in a while. The consensus is also that AOTC is the worst of the SW scores.

All subjective opinion, of course, but these are folks who eat, sleep and breathe this stuff but brutal and blunt at times.

Been listening to TFA soundtrack for over a month so I feel I am well versed in the music. Seen the movie only once. Very curious how I will experience the movie when it is released on Blu ray. Will the soundtrack dominate the movie itself to the point of distraction!

Going 120 mph on the highway with "Chase Through Coruscant" as we speak. Wish me luck bros

I doubt it. It's actually kind of oddly mixed within the film itself (which may be why so many feel underwhelmed by it). In fact, it wasn't until I saw the movie in true 70mm IMAX a couple of weeks ago that I experienced it where the score was ubiquitously part of the movie in a very noticeable way. I'm really hoping the mix on Blu-ray/DVD release is more like that (even the dialogue mix was much more crisp). Even so, it doesn't distract.

When I was on there in December and last month, there were people in the boards ripping it and fighting over it. In fact, I gave Khev a link to them when he kept bringing up the score when no one was biting.

Alot must have changed for it to become unanimous. I even recall a few people trolling on there making people cry for pages on end.

Yeah, these days the most consternation you see over TFA on there is the lack of a 2-disc set with ALL of the music. :lol
