Of course I can. :) We do it all the time. Let's say we're talking about the ALIEN movies. What concept sounds cooler to you? Someone visiting the ALIEN homeworld? Or Ripley and Hicks somehow still alive 30 years after the events of ALIENS and trying to take down the Company once and for all? We have no idea what those finished films will be like, how well they'll be executed, but we can definitely say which concept we'd rather see play out.

I guess, from a certain point of view.

Concepts for me are all in the wording though.

I'm sure we both could come up with some incredible concepts that would make the PT sound interesting and thrilling.

For starters we wouldn't use the word TAXATION! :lol

I wonder what Episodes 4, 5, and 6 would have been like if George remade them after the PT.

"You fought in the Commodity Wars?"

"I was once a Jedi Knight, the same as your father. He didn't like the increased taxes either. I mean he didn't hate them the way he hated younglings, but he definitely wasn't a fan. Speaking of younglings, where's that old lightsaber you were supposed to have..."

OR

"Tell me about your mother, your real mother I mean."

"What's to tell? She didn't give a **** about us. The end."

I hope this doesn’t come across as defending the PT, but…

Relax, it's fine to defend the PT despite what others might say.

People seem to get hung up on that opening crawl. Maybe it wasn't the best choice of words, but if you remember the prologue from the old ANH novelisation, the Republic era was always gonna be about politicking and bureaucracy and the downfall of a government.

I for one loved the story of Palps' subterfuge. Sure, the acting and directing could have been better, but the basic story was there.

Yeah what were they thinking making it all like...the good Star Wars movies...
:lol yeah don't get me wrong, it's ok that it was hack and slash, one was an experience but very wounded fighter, and the other one was a "gifted" noob, so it was ok.

Yet, the Maul fight is the best fight in SW imo, surpassed only by the intensity of Luke vs Vader.

Rey vs Kylo was more of an updated Vader vs Ben Kenobi.

I kid, I kid... :monkey3

Okay seriously, outside of "Duel of the Fates" try and hum ANY theme from TPM. Can't do it can you? Neither can I. But with TFA I've got Rey's theme, Kylo's theme, the Resistance March, those are all very memorable. IMO The Force Awakens' score got back to that elegant combination of iconic and memorable themes with subtle, more emotional cues that we haven't had in SW since ESB. Empire has the Imperial March obviously, but also the great understated music of Yoda, Luke looking at his face in Vader's mask, the quiet Force theme that plays when Leia is "hearing" Luke, the various themes in Cloud City, etc.

Actually I can , and both my kids can. To be fair I picked up my first score on record at the library at 7. John William Jaws....which is a master piece.

I am also a writer and musician myself. I believe JW made this score subtle on purpose. He will revisit these themes in much more pronounced and dramatic versions in future films. Kylos theme is already strengthening in this film, as is Reys and character worthy before the saga ends I promise you they will be thematic. But make no mistake , they will never be as ingrained at the original.

Top scores of all time.
1. Jaws
2. Star wars
3. The Godfather
4. Raiders of the Lost Ark
5. Back to the Future.
6. Harry Potter
7. Halloween
8. The Terminator
9. The Thing
10. Jurassic park
11. The Bond films

Does anyone else find it as odd as I do that we're now just over a month until the Blu-ray/DVD release but it hasn't actually been officially announced or solicited yet?

I mean, there have been (unofficial) leaks and Amazon has listed it... but it technically hasn't been announced yet. And that would seem a tad last-minute for a major retail release. Just kinda odd, especially for LFL who is usually Johnny-on-the-spot with these types of things. That leads me to believe that Disney has their fingers in the home video release pie, because they really slow things down with their endless red tape.

Yeah, it's gotta be Disney. It makes sense that they'd have control over the home video release since Distribution, Marketing and Retail is all them (and that's exactly what this is). But they are notoriously slow-paced and after working with them (Disney) on Star Wars Celebration planning last year I now have an idea of how they work. And it's often :banghead

They (Disney) better not be so involved with LFL's home video releases that they squash the option of 3D as they've continually done with their own homegrown films (Frozen, Big Hero 6, Maleficent and Cinderella.) I was counting on LFL being another Marvel or Pixar so we could get 3D stateside.
