Fun Fact: In the canon Marvel books, Vader slaughtered a tribe of Sandpeople to kill time until Boba Fett arrived. That happens in the first issue. In the final issue, we get a backup, where the rest of the tribe returns, and the few survivors tell of the great beast that slaughtered them. In the end, they create a statue of Vader and start worshipping it. It's a silent story as well, and I found it a pretty good addition to the canon.

Did Vader cry afterwards? How about the statue...any tears? :monkey3

Nope. Gillen's Vader was pretty bad-ass:

If memory serves... zero.

Disney would never turn Rey evil. As quaint as it is for fanboys to dream about Rey going naughty (and dawning an equally dark and skimpy outfit as well) I think its pretty unlikely that Disney would undermine its own merchandise campaign and disappoint millions of little girls.

Plus, there's more girls than boys on this planet now... which explains 'a great many things.'

I would agree had Disney not nuked a primary female hero just now along with...let me see...everyone else! Lol

If anything Kathleen Kennedy might want Rey to go thru hell just so she can show that anything a man can endure so can a woman.

Tarkin literally nuked the site from orbit.

Yeah,

I'm not so easily buying that Disney did an oops and accidently created a mary sue, something is obviously up with her and the other core characters.

Hell even Starkiller base, that horrible call back to the OT, might've been a ruse lol.

But lets say she does turn out to be this perfect know it all character, it could still provide us with some wonderful drama when she's finally confronted by the primary threat of the plot, remember what Dooku said..twice the pride, double the fall (love that line btw, one of my all time favorite movie lines).

Luke will make Rey watch the PT as the final test?

BA-DOOM-SHH!!

lol

Or TFA

I honestly do not think anyone that's in charge really understands Star Wars and act like they are doing new stuff when they rip off characters from the EU (Jacen/Jaina Solo, Kyle Katarn, Jan Ors). If Episode 8 is another TFA, well then I've lost all hope in Disney and the decision makers.

Yeah I agree, RO solidified that they have no clue what they're doing....that 3rd act was poorly executed as was Vader's assault., Disney really has no business making SW movies let alone any movie.

They need to go into the matress business and stay the hell away from Hollywood.

I think there are plenty of fans who would say TFA did that first.

TFA is obviously much better than the PT, but I do prefer RO.

But that Falcon escape is something else and just as good as anything from the 3rd act of RO.

That was one of my problems opening night, the trailer had convinced me that it would be Han piloting the Falcon in that scene but that trailer deceived the world of man didn't it.

Again, not because I have a problem with Rey, just that the trailer money shot was Falcon + Han + Chewie we're home = me fooled.

TFA will be the weakest of the new SW films if they get better and better like RO and I'm sure Ep VIII will be. TFA played it safer and done for nostalgia to rope the fans back in reminding them the PT was a far away blemish on the franchise...
