Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Nah Star Wars is the paycheck but he does seem to genuinely like Indiana Jones.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I wouldn't mind seeing another one. Sure 4 was a let down but another might not necessarily do the same. And there'd always be the 'original trilogy'

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

It would have to be a prequel. Only way I'm on board if theres no marriage, no Karen Allen, no Shia, no stupid family kidnapping, and no nukes.

Besides how do you top riding off into the sunset and getting married? Unless he marries Willie and Elsa too and all 4 of em ride off into the sunset togeather twoards the compound.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

if i were a SW fan, i'd have deep concerns of having jj abrahms at the helm. he rebooted star trek with a timeline skew, never corrected it in the second movie and just basically forgot about it thinking we would too. now it looks like SW will be his project for the next few years and he's dropping the star trek reboot? i think he sucks.

Reminds me of Singer ditching X-Men. We got Superman Returns and Brett Ratner out of that.
Maybe he'll also put Quinto in Star Wars and they'll kill off Spock like they did to poor Cyclops. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I still don't understand why anyone is even a tiny bit worried at this point. Star Wars, as it stands, ****ing sucks. It couldn't get any worse then it is now.

And if it does, then that would make the new film a masterpiece in failure. And so what.

Good thing you're not a Star Wars fan.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I was. But how can you be at this point? It's a massive **** show. This is the only way to move forward. Even if the movie is just OK, it's still incredibly better then what we have now.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

The prequels didn't manage to totally bastardise Han, Leia, and Luke. JJ has that chance.

Vader on the other hand? Well I'll never be able to look at him the same after E3. You can't unsee that emo crap.

I get that if your friend dies in a horrible parasailing accident, you try to remember the good times, but that horrible parasailing accident was still very tramautic.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

That is true. But I feel like with the one guy that got them right helming this one, we have a chance to make it work.

Abrams loves Star Wars. He doesn't love Star Trek. He made Star Trek into Star Wars. So you got a guy who basically made a good Star Wars movie, with the Larry Kasden, who wrote the best Star Wars movie coming together....well, I can't see how it would fail that badly.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

They are seriously pulling out all the stops on this. There is no way it will be prequel quality. Will it be OT? No, that has nostalgia on its side.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Slightly off-topic, In the meantime, anyone Catch the Star Wars Reference/inclusion ( It is about different worlds/ parallel worlds dimensions,/ etc) On Once Upon a Time in Wonderland last week?

That would mean people would have to watch that show.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Some do. It's not a Terrible show. needs a LITTLE more crossover with the show it's spun off of to work I think.

REgardless, Hearing the red quen SERIOUSLY suggest feeding Alice to A sarlaac so that she would be slowly digested over a millennia Made me grin.

I wondered if Disney was going to start throwing SW references in at some point. I wonder if Jedi or SW aliens will ever appear on the show.
