Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

"Aw crap, we only have six months until our release date, not enough time to animate the cast, guess we'll just have to use human actors and real locations."

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

""LOS ANGELES—Saying that “it’s time,” a visibly weary Harrison Ford pleaded with his agents Thursday to simply stop this and let him die, "I've given up it over". sources confirmed. “Please, you’ve had your fill. Just let me go quietly into the night,” the 71-year-old Ender’s Game star reportedly said, later imploring his agents not to hand him any more scripts and to just “let [him] go to sleep forever.” “I’ve spent my entire life doing this for you people. We had a good run, but it’s been a long journey and I’m very tired now. Please don’t talk about any more projects or how the director will work around my schedule. And don’t try to convince me that this is how I get my Oscar. It’s over. I just want to close my eyes and never wake up.” Reports confirm that Ford’s agents then mentioned a new script set during the Cold War in which he’d play Robert McNamara, which prompted Ford to sigh, shake his head no more..""

its over no more indy or star wars or films from Harrison, this is terrible. so sad :(:(:(:(:(:(

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Some of those things, like the big environments they did for the prequels can probably take months to do, which they can't start until they know what's in the script. And some complex CG FX can take longer--like in Transformers it took about 9 months to create each transformer model and about a month to animate each transformation.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Imagine:

"Well, it looks like we don't have enough time to create new character models. Let's just go with Jar Jar, Ben Quadinaros and Dex Jexster since they're already done...."

Cool. Then we can take our cameras to real world locations and not have to worry about robots as the enemies or cartoon dudes in armor this time around. :hi5:

:rotfl

I was actually thinking after I posted my witty remark, that some things are indeed impossible to shoot...

Like a new Star Wars film which will be as beloved as the OT. :(

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I hope Ford doesn't return... his acting is terrible nowdays.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

Some things are impossible to shoot practically

That didn't make the OT or any classic movies from the '80s lesser movies. Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings, and Inception are are all films that had the right idea of using CGI as a tool to enhance an image rather than using it as a crutch to do everything possible in the movie with like Lucas ended up doing with the PT.

If anything, this limited time will likely force them to overdo the CGI because I think it's easier today than building sets and models. But I'm not in the industry. I just see CGI everywhere and assume it's movie makers cutting corners.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (2015) Discussion Thread

I guess I'd feel more comfortable if the first film to be released was one of the side stories so they can sort of work some issues out, see what types of things fly with audiences, etc.

I think their in such a hurry to get E7 done because they don't want Ford to die or something. :lol

But it will Be As beloved as the OT... By the people who see it when tehy are the same age as you were when you FIRST saw SW.

Much like the PT is to that generation, and The CLone wars is to Its generation.

Are you saying that AOTC is literally as good as TESB and that only the age of the viewer determines how well it's liked?
