That'd be pretty weird to have R2 rolling around beeping away with no one to translate what he's saying.

They're just trickling out "news" because there is no real news. That's all it is folks.

worked fine with chewie

Hah, in the Legacy series that's like 130 years in the future, there's only R2 with no C-3PO

they never touched on him either. the series ended before they got into any of those details. Kinda liked that.

EU.. :lol

It's like a clayton's drink; the drink you're having when you're not having a drink. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

They're both in Ep.VII.
Just a guess because these two are iconic SW characters.

Plus, it's Disney. They must be thinking of all the toys they can sell. There's more Marvel stuff in the Disney store these days than original Disney.

Not here. They've allocated two wall cubbies and maybe a display or two to Marvel. The rest is "Disney" stuff. I wonder how successful a straight-up Star Wars store would do in malls.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

with enough diversification, and significant stock levels, in the right places ( larger cities) I think it would do great.

a store about 1/2 the size of FYE, to twice the size of your average gamestop.

Sell toys, videos, Clothing, kids bedsheets, and nic-nac crap. and anything else.

Don't get me wrong, there's still more 'Disney' than Marvel, it's just that you can walk past the Disney store these days and you'll see an Iron Man display in the window rather than 'Disney'. I can see the store looking more like a Star Wars shop come 2015.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I heard they're changing 3PO's color to a bronze hue.

Might be worth them looking into. From oldschool fans of the OT through toddler fans of the Clone Wars and LEGO films, I'm sure they could build hype for their new property while raking in the merchandising dollars. Especially if they offered exclusives.

Wish that was the case here. The windows still have all the Disney animatronics displayed and Marvel's tucked into the corner like the bastard cousin. :(

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Work is due to start at Elstree in less than a fortnight......and still no official confirmation on anything other than R2 is in it, but seeing as he is now a completely animatronic/remote controlled or CG character this is really a non-news, especially as the preview pics gave it all away last week anyway.

Cast - Not decided...
Script - Incomplete or needing revision...
Sets - Unbuilt because of script problems...
Props - A complete R2 unit and thats it...
Location shoots - Still to be decided...

:impatient: Hmmmmmppfff!!!!

This will either be pushed back or be a rushed, train wreck of a film. Or, they are possibly more along than they are saying and just keeping everything very hush hush.

It's already been pushed back to December of 2015. It can't be pushed back any further. And there was an article already posted here how the PT each had three whole years of development time and were train wrecks. SW and ESB were rushed and we all know how those turned out.

I'm not saying that this will be great or even good, but the end product will probably have little to do with the limited amount of time they've given themselves.
