Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Definitely not, I didn't think the Zahn books were all that great--so that's one plus for them not to be adapting EU stories for the new trilogy

that, and the timeline is about 30-40 years after ROTJ. which is mostly playing it safe. unexplored territory even with the EU for the most part.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Not really, there's two book series around that time, and having it later means they will have to come up with something simple to explain the time in between ROTJ and the new movie, probably not the EU stuff because there's too much that happened.

Script should be done now, and will be getting cast news soon i hope.

The Boba Fett film sound interesting...

No doubt, Boba's got a huge fan base.
I'd watch it even though I'm not a big fan.

I'd definitely like to see how he collects those lightsabers. :rock

If they do a Boba movie, it'll probably be a disappointment.
I mean, he is a villain. A cold hearted bounty hunter, trained as such since he was a little kid. No way they will make a movie about such a character. Boba will become an anti-hero, with a conscience...

It could work if they did it like The Terminator or Predator. You know even though he's the title character just make him a silent killer hunting the "good guys."

Or have him wasting some space crew one by one until some lucky chick blows him out the airlock.

If he's the hero and has a lot of dialogue, yeah, it'll blow.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Hopefully the Boba flick is a real time account of his time spent in the Sarlacc digestive tract. :yess:

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Im really looking forward to a whole new Star Wars trilogy, I have faith that this will be great!

Yeah, we'd probably get some mid to late-90's Venom type nonsense.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

See my previous post. Title characters (especially if they are the villain) don't necessarily have to have a lot of dialogue. Arnold only had about 12 lines in the first Terminator.

I guess so.

Is this movie deffo happening?

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Not to change the subject too much, but did anyone watch the Simpsons last night? Homer was pirating movies and they showed what ep. VII and that ep. I-III never took place or something like that.

The scene that was shown was a buffed Yoda fighting Mandalorian commandos.

Never would have thought about it before, but a Boba Fett PG13 film where they portray Boba like a Jason or Michael Myers masked villian. That would be intensely cool.

I could also see it flipped the other way, with Boba more like a Charles Bronson or Clint Eastwood type. Honestly, if they wanted to completely rip off High Plains Drifter and see Boba try to help some town and in the end leaving it in to its own destruction...that would be cool too.

I still hope they do a 7 Jedi film too. Yes, completely unoriginal, but I would pay to see both High Plains Drifter and Seven Samuria done SW style. If you're Disney, milk this freaking license. I'd pay to see SW redo Gone with the Wind for goodness sake. :lol

Rip off or not, 7 samurai done in Star Wars verse could be a very cool movie. :hi5:

Since when does a bounty hunter count as a villain?

It doesnt. :monkey1
