George Lucas makes me sick. Just seeing his face makes me sick....:ohbfrank:..... Yet I love Star Wars so much..... when it comes to SW I feel conflicted and troubled most of the time :gah:

I hate him yet I love his creation...

But the entire damn PT was pretty much botched in one of those areas (and often times both areas) from beginning to end. I challenge anyone here to pick a scene from the PT that was fundamentally sound in a "good for the story" type of way that was also skillfully executed.

I like the opera scene in RotS. Ian McDiarmid is great and ignoring the whole Midichlorians thing, seeing him manipulate Anakin to do exactly what he wants him to do is awesome.

I'd also list Order 66 as a great scene. The only trouble is I had no emotional connection to any of those Jedi that died. Ki Adi Mundi at least had a couple lines of dialogue and was one of the first TPM figures made so he is the one I could have almost been sad to see go. But that fault lies we everything that came before it, not with that scene specifically.

Other than that? You're right, things are fundamentally flawed. The AotC speeder chase would have worked better if it had been Anakin who had recklessly jumped out of a window and Obi-Wan who had used patience and wisdom to fly the speeder. To show off Anakin's piloting skills, Obi-Wan could have just given up the wheel. Just little tweeks throughout could have made things better. Enough to make them good? No, I don't think so. Total rewrites would be necessary.

Search your feelings, crows, you can't do this. I feel the conflict within you. Let go of your hate.

no.... It is too late for me son.... George Lucas is your master now.

Nonono. But I like Qui-Gon Jinn while thinking he is a pointless character who even harmed the overall story so ....... :dunno

I recall all the rumors before TPM about Liam Neeson's character. One rumor was that he was a Jedi and Anakin was his son who turned to the dark side and he and Obi-Wan try to save him and ultimately fail.

that would have been so much better..... Just like when I heard that Jar Jar was supposed to betray them and be a serious character too right?

sad when rumors are better than the facts.

I wonder if Disney/Lucasfilm are trying to pull a fast one? From various sources it's been said filming is to start end of March beginning of April, now they are shouting from the roof tops they're shooting from May. With on set security a priority for Abrams are they going to try and get a few weeks worth of filming in the can before anyone takes notice of them?

People have ways of sneaking out photos & video - it'll happen soon enough, don't worry. :lol

Heh, that'd be funny just to mess with fans before releasing a real set photo with a physical set of the Millenium Falcon. Honestly that's the first thing I'd release. It's iconic, familiar, wouldn't reveal anything plot related, but would get fans and casual film goers pumped.

I don't know if even the MF could get me "pumped." TPM showed a real R2, was shot on film, used tons of real sets and locations. Just saying "we're doing that again, look, we built something that was in the OT!" isn't going to cut it for me. I'm holding out hope until I see the first trailer.

Yeah.. kinda agree.

The proof's in the first real filmed sequences - & that's ages away. :gah:
