Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

AOTC was shot at Fox Studio's in Australia with only a few days of pick ups in London.
The Tatooine shots were in Tunsia, though they also filmed the Tatooine shots from ROTS at the same time.
Much of the Naboo locations were in Italy.

They had quite a few large sets--Padme's Apartment, Palpatine's chambers, the Outlander club. All very large sets. And for the CGI sets in the vast majority of cases they used CGI because it was the only option, the alternative was to not have those locations at all.

More stuff on Luke's home planet? Why does everything in the SW universe zero in on this one planet?? Sort of odd and more Jabba stuff?
Wait are we sure this isn't a remake of TPM??????:lol

I find it really annoying that they can't leave tatooine alone.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

If the story can justify it believably, I have no problem seeing Tatooine. I know nothing of the story, so why would I have an opinion one way or the other?

I'm going to be pissed if a CGI Ricardo Montalbán 'Khan' is not walking by in the background somewhere on Tatooine.

I thought Anakin killed them. Killed them all.

...they're dead. Every single one of them. And not just the men, but the women, and the children too.

They were animals, and he slaughtered them like animals.

They'll soon be back - & in greater numbers.

AOTC did location shooting in Madrid, Spain, a huge amount of Naboo was shot at Lake Como in Italy, pick ups in Tunisia.
As well as studio shooting.

Tatooine is ***ing awesome. They just dulled it to death in the prequels.
Would love to see jabbas palace again if that is indeed where they're going.

Indeed - although overkill is just that.

Hopefully if they go there again, it's done intelligently to take the story to an interesting place, not lazily use familiar locales to replace good story telling.

Did you guys see those concept paintings of Jabbas place , it was like a whole city. It was so awesome not just Jabba's castle but had a bazzar and living quarters outside the castle. Looked pretty awesome like an Egyptian village. Have Bounty hunters chasing Luke through those streets on a rooftop Lightsaber, blaster batter, YEEEEHAH

It made logicial sense to feature Tatooine in the original trilogy twice. It made sense I suppose in the prequels to connect Luke to the Lars family to Anakin. I'm sure it will serve a purpose in this story as well. People need to find something to complain about. I'm sure there will be new exotic worlds too.

I figured out who the Baddie is on Tatooine, he has been waiting for the right chance to strike at Skywalker! Spoiler Alert!!!!
