:lol

The Curse of Tatooine: that's a pretty big problem since it's in all but one of the current 7 movies!

That's my point: 1st appearance is OK in Star Wars, then any 2nd appearance or more becomes the jinx. We will see if the prophecy holds true for VII.

Doesn't count. Can't pick and choose through unofficial editing. These guys are more like DJs than actual artists.

True's true. Yet all I can tell you is what I do and what I do is l8twrtr... in a totally plutonic sense.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Maybe Episode VII should be called The Curse of Tatooine. I like it.

Joking aside, sometimes I get a small chill up my spine realizing after all these years that they are actually doing episodes 7-9.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Well ones things for sure you werent going to get 5 men inside a gigantic pig like in that pic with the prequels.

Super stoked.

Kinda nervous about the original 3 though (mostly leia) But i'm sure JJ will have them in top working order.
Reading through the comments that's supposedly a Ralph McQuarrie inspired Jabba's entrance? (bottom right) who knows does kinda look like that though.

I know this is a stupid thing to say. I know I will feel the repercussions.

Apart from all the throne room scenes and admiral ackbar, I prefer ROTS to ROTJ.

There I said it, "my name is Rory and I like one of the prequels..."

More Mon Calamari in episode vii!

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I was 9 when The Phantom Menace came out, so I love the prequels just as much as the original trilogy.

Prequel haters are just old farts... :lecture

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Would have no problem with the Dathomir witches. As long as they're ****ing scary, not the watered down kind.

Edit: leaked pics

That bottom right thing is unused McQuarrie art!
https://bensbargains.net/thecheckou...ries-stunning-return-of-the-jedi-concept-art/

I'm hopeful we'll see more unused stuff or designs in McQuarries style.

EDIT - Didn't see Oscorp mentioned this. I discovered it on my own when researching FB'S #McQuarrieMonday picture of two Death Stars. Hopefully we don't see THAT.

I agree with you I am an old fart and absolutely despise everything about the sequels. Lucas destroyed and molested my childhood , I will never forgive him no matter how much money he gives to charity. I am still extremely bitter x many years later. So bitter..........

And ignored!:lecture

I'm sure it would have been a lot different if I was in my 20's or 30's seeing the prequels, but as most of you should know.. what you love as a kid has the potential to stick with you through the rest of your life.

Here's to hoping Episode VII doesn't leave me bitter! :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

In the future they will have procedures like the movie Total Recall where you can go erase the Star Wars prequels from your brain and ad three good movies instead.......True Story

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Even AOTC was shot on location in Italy and Spain (Naboo), Tunisia (Tatt) as well as on massive practical sets in UK.
So far, this is nothing new.

AOTC was shot at Fox Studio's in Australia with only a few days of pick ups in London.

Coruscant had a large number of sets--various Jedi Temple locations, Padme's apartment, the senate, Palpatine's rooms, the Outlander club and Coruscant street, Dexter's bar

The only real thing in the Jedi Temple was the actors, the council chamber and the bust of various Jedi, the Senate was virtually all cgi except for the hovering platform's and the entrance doorway to them. You're right Padme's apartment was real and in the DVD commentary its stated this is the largest set they built for the PT. But the Outlander Club and Coruscant street in AOTC weren't very large sets, the Outlander used shadows to disguise its size and the street included a cgi extension with the only real thing being the ground and the doorway to the Outlander.

I don't think you can compare Palps chambers and Dexter's Cafe with sets from the OT such as the Death Star, Docking Bay 97, the Massassi Outpost's hanger bay and the temple's Throne Room. The OT did use matte paintings to extend hanger bays and landing platforms and i think you can easily tell that they're paintings but they're only used to extend a set that already has the Falcon or the Shuttle Tyderium in it and not as a cost cutting exercise.
