I saw it on Netflix. I thought it was going to be pretty bad for some reason, but it was a fun movie. I could definitely relate to a lot of the guys in it.

I've read that at various sources online today, sounds pretty doubtful. If it was true it would totally negate the OT narratively.

I don't believe any of these things I'm reading. All these reports seem like they were made by obnoxious attention seeking whores.
However, something like this wouldn't surprise me though. It'd negate and contradict ROTJ, sure, but didn't the prequels already do that? If Lucas wasn't infallible with his own babies, what makes people think JJ Abrams and Co. will be?

Of all the rumors we have heard I think there are few things which are true:
1) Daisy is playing a character called Kira who is the daughter of Han and Leia
2) Someone goes out looking for Luke, who is a hermit somewhere.
3) Falcon and X-wing fighters are featured along with shiney Cylon troopers.
That's it.
