Yeah, I forgot about Fisher's daughter as well. So they are gonna play the "there was this other character around for all those years, but we just didn't mention him" game? But now we will show him in flashback? I hope not.

:lol

I will tell myself "It's a big universe. If there is a movie about an army guy fighting Hitler, would I be mad if the sequel has a flashback of him fighting Hirohito as a set up device?"

meh. :lol

Well sure, if the secondary character wasn't integral to the first plot. That's ok.

But "some weird old Sith guy touched me up when I was a teenager" is something that might have been relevant to Luke, Obi-Wan & co when they spent 3 movies fighting the last Sith in the Universe?

Unless it's Anakin's real Daddy. The old Sith that started it all. You know? the "there was no father" line that Shmi threw around? Well maybe after he dipped his midichlorian covered test tube on a drunken Shmi, he later went looking for his grand kids, Luke and Leia.

I'd bet something (but not much) on the fact that Anakin's parentage is gonna play into this somehow. Grandpop Plagueis?

That drawing certainly looks like a relative of Leia.

I see he's doing the ole Sith yawning **** grab trick maneuver on her.

Will all of the nods and winks to the OT help or hurt this movie? I get the appeal, but at some point, it would be overkill. Are there no new stories to tell in the SW universe?
